The Astros are setting the city up for one of the most disappointing years ever. Mariners within 13 games now.
Sucks now, but it's all about the playoffs. Could suck then too, but I'm still confident with health.
fire the whole training/medical staff in the offseason. Everyone who has come back from injury this season has been physically unfit to do so.
I've been impressed with some of the medical technologies that many of the European soccer clubs are using to get their players back onto the field faster after injuries. Especially the class of devices called PEMF or Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. Really does wonders to speed the healing of wounds and broken bones, torn ligaments, etc. and promotes cell growth where muscle has been lost to atrophy etc. Not sure if any of this is being used by the Astros. It's one of the first things that came to mind when I saw the picture of Correa after his surgery. I guess they can't be very public about the medical side of things for reasons of patient confidentiality.
I guess I might need to issue a formal apology for not being mad/frustrated about the Astros going through, like... their second (?) bad stretch all season.
I know you and the rest of the #astrostwitter elites think it's absurd that people dare be concerned about the product on the field, but the condescending attitude is almost as infuriating as Luhnow standing pat. It is not unreasonable AT ALL to be concerned about this team.
It isn't unreasonable to be concerned, I agree. Just don't get mad at me because I don't share that concern (yet).
Alright. Do you think DK makes his next start or lands on the 10 day? I give it 50/50. He is not right at the moment. tickling 86-87mph is leading the the cover being torn off the ball. Right now our best pitchers are Morton, Peacock and Fiers. those vs Kershaw, Darvish and Wood? Yea. I am concerned.
If they go into the playoffs with Morton, Peacock and Fiers as their 3 best starting pitchers, the Dodgers pitching staff won't be our concern...we likely won't get far enough to have that be a concern. Bottom line is Keuchel and McCullers will need to be at their best (or very close to it) when we're facing the level of talent we'll face in the playoffs.
With all due respect, who is projecting anything on you? No one is forcing you to agree with anything.
Not projecting on you. Just replying and asking a legit question. I am curious if anyone else thinks that we will get a 10 day announcement on DK prior to his next scheduled start.
On a personal positive note, I didnt have a hard time choosing which Houston sport to watch last night... This team is just not into it as much right now.
What is Lance comes back and is Lance? Do you trade someone like F. Perez and a couple others for Verlander? If Verlander is pitching like an ace, and Lance is back...... is that good enough? Remember the Indians almost won the WS last year with major injuries.
