Punishment for that boneheaded throw home against Toronto over the weekend? Nevermind the three homeruns...
Astros likely just want to see Davis in a few more ABs or have Davis see a little more pitching so he can see what he needs to learn.
Davis is up specifically to face LH pitching this week. He mentioned the other day we face quite a few lefties this road trip.
Only thing I can figure is the Tigers may want to see him in action and are considering him in a possible trade. Nevermind White's hot bat .310/.999 ops
Seattle has moved up to the #2 WC. That is the one team I fear the most simply because Jim Paxton owns us and Cano too.
We can't face them first round. If they get he second wild card and win the play in game vs NYY or BOS, then they face the next best record either CLE or NYY/BOS. This is the only case where we'd possibly play CLE in the first round which to me is the worst scenario.
That's my best guess too. This move wouldn't make sense if the goal were simply to maximize current offensive production.
can't be traded, he is on the 40 man roster so would have to clear waivers, which would never happen for a prospect
I'm pretty sure that's not right. The #1 seed will play the WC winner regardless of division. The old rule was discarded.
FYI...Cano is hitting .184 with a .543 OPS against us this season. Yes, historically he has...just not in 2017. Also, Spacemoth is incorrect. They removed that rule once they went to 2 WC teams.
Frequent worthless popups like that, McCann, are why you're now batting eighth. All you had to do was hit a decent fly ball or even a grounder. Seen a lot of called third strikes on various Astros lately. Young guys like Fisher, you guys don't have a good enough eye, yet, so you'd better protect the plate and SWING when you've got two guys in scoring position.
