That Pence statement is written for an audience of one. He knows we aren't all that dumb and he absolutely wants the GOP and it's donors to know he's their guy if and when a change can be made. Wouldn't it be hilarious though if Trump turned on Pence and started publicly bashing him? I mean why not? He's done that about pretty much everyone else except his daughterwife.
Pence does everything possible to assuage Trump's insecurities so that whether he lasts all 4 years or not, Pence will have Trump's approval when taking over. Reading a tweet that says "doubts grow" just makes me laugh. Trump isn't running in 2020 and I think everyone with an ounce of sense knows it. Because he doesn't want to publicly acknowledge being a lame duck, Trump won't admit it until the last minute.

This is one of those scenarios where Democrats can easily manipulate Trump. Regardless of whether it's true, if Dems can start a consistent conversation that Pence is looking out for himself and planning to run, Trump will throw Pence under the bus because he will believe it. He's just too easily manipulated that way. I've honestly been pretty surprised that Dems haven't used that strategy already on a variety of topics.
I always thought Pence was overrated by Houston fans. Never a great hitter or runner or fielder. He absolutely had a few good years in SF but nothing too special.

Haha, I really don't have a go-to but I do click on tons of links from all sides. Then I read the comments. My opinion of who is the most credible changes all of the time and is really irrelevant.
That statement looks like was written by Pence himself, given that, at least stylistically and grammatically, it looks like it was written by mid-quartile high school junior of the pre-emoji generation. I assume that Trump forced him to write it himself?
