What an ending! They needed that one badly. Hopefully this will be a launching bad back to playing winning baseball again.
Centeno quickly becoming the greatest Astro ever, putting together a career season and one for the ages.
A little bit lost in everything is Alex Bregman is fulfilling his star potential right now. Virtually never striking out, walking at a high rate, and hitting for extra bases. If he continues to hit like this the Astros are going to be extremely hard to beat in the postseason (assuming Springer and Correa are healthy).
Anyone else notice how slow Aoki was getting to the ball off of Bregman's bat? His relay was not great either. A decent effort would have gotten either Beltran at home or Bregman at third.
I think what's more concerning is if you saw the replay from the home plate camera you see Beltran dogging it before 2nd base until he realizes the ball is way past Aoki. Honest, he should have been thrown out at home.
Over the last 228 PA, he has only struck out 24 times versus 28 walks with a .950 OPS. Only a .293 BABIP over that stretch as well, so it isn't as if he's getting any extra luck on that front. He's the truth.
So basically what you are saying is.... his war can be potentially better than Sales so we made the right move in keeping him. Got it.
