Good way of putting it. I felt very strongly that when Hinch put Liriano in, he was actively conceding the game. It just felt like he was saying, "Okay, I'm not going overthrow Giles. Whatever happens from this point happens." I didn't like it.
A lot of stuff going against this team lately. We're not catching many breaks in the field of action. I feel like breaking stuff.
Altuve looks jittery there at the plate. Like he's really hyped up to do something. He can make that work, and he just did, but I always get a little nervous when I see batters fiddle with their stance or demeanor at the plate. Gurriel worries me. He seems to have coiled back even more (somehow) and maybe was closer to the plate. There's something different. I think there's tension among these guys with the losses that's affecting their game. Fielding is another one of those things. I don't think Altuve fired that ball to Yuli out of a statemate to Yuli. I think he was just frustrated with his first at-bat. I hope they calm down a bit.

They're pressing. It's what baseball teams in a funk do when what they are used to doing isn't working. A common remedy is to bring some new blood into the clubhouse, hence all of the roster moves since the deadline when we weren't able to acquire any actual established MLB talent.
Something that Luhnow witnessed first-hand all those years in St. Louis, where they did make additions to help bolster the team. Unfortunately, they'll start making moves in upcoming years en-mass as guys regress or more needs arise (and time with this core runs out).... but there will always be the potential opportunity cost of this season (unless they still end up winning it all).
