I think I might just take a break from watching these guys until Correa's back. Springer will be healthy by then. I do think Keuchel and McCullers will get themselves resettled by then. The bullpen...well, it is what it is.

Anyone wanna go kidnap Aoki and hold him for ransom until the trade is reversed? I mean, everyone's in town right now, so it'd be easier for all parties involved. Just sayin'.

(not seriously for any morons out there)

I just don't believe in this bullpen. They've shown their true colors and it's not pretty.

It's nice that Hinch gave that "I believe in this bullpen" speech the other day but it's grounded in beliefs that have no merit in fact. The last place in ERA says it all. LAST PLACE! What kind of team wins the World Series with a bullpen that is last place in ERA? Has it happened before?

Baseball hasn't been fun lately. I have become emotionally invested in the Astros this season because of their potential. Every loss like this because of our bullpen has ruined my night. It's either bad hitting one night or bad pitching the other.

Washington bullpen has been really atrocious but guess the Astros is even worst now. At least they addressed their weakness and traded for Madson and Doolittle from Oakland and Kintzler from Minnesota. THREE quality bullpen pitchers by deadline and we got one trash.

At least football season starts soon.

I thought Astros were going somewhere this year. Still time to right the ship but it starts with a big move from Luhnow.

I'm not a fan of nitpicking minor managerial decisions, but any reason why Hinch didn't PR Marisnick for Beltran in the 7th? Seems like it could have made a difference, and I feel like that's a move Hinch normally makes late in games.

Well. Yea. Our new lefty specialist puked a couple of games. It is not the 2 AP's that concern me. It's the competitors in the clubhouse like DK that were already dissapointed in our crap trade season. They are even more so now. To hell with Verlanders contract. They may need to eat it in order to win back the guys.

Yup. While Monday was bad, the week since has gone about as poorly as possible for Luhnow if he was hoping to build confidence in the clubhouse.

I was at the game, Pettis should be fired, tonight. Beltran should not have been held at 3rd on Bregman's double, the ball was just being picked up when Beltran rounded 3rd and he was throwing to a cutoff man. Most likely they don't even make a throw at the plate but to second. Beltran scores there and we win 4-3 in 9, instead we allowed our ***** the bed bullpen to cough up another strong outing by a SP. I said I would be shocked if Liriano doesn't give up a run when they trotted him out there and sure enough, gives up a run. This game was beyond embarrassing for anyone who is a fan of baseball.

Nook, we want to compete not just now but 10 years down the road too! We tried very, very, very hard! Frankie will come in & do his job. We're excited about his addition.

Lots of little mistakes(maybe not so little) add up to a loss. Minor leaguers aren't as good as superstar major leaguers. Marwin needs to be in the lineup.

Fisher's arm and Davis' indecision led to 3 runs. Marwin also would have been far less likely to k with a runner on 3rd and only one out. Gave that game away.

Really wish we would have added a bullpen arm. Right now Giles is the only reliever I feel good about.

They really need to shelve Devo right now. Maybe rest doesn't solve his issues, but I just don't know if we can keep running him out there and assume he's gonna get right. He's only struck out 8 of his last 40 batters, that's the number that alarms me far more than his ERA.

what did you watch? need new movie recommendations.
I think Hinch just gave everyone a day off yesterday including himself.
Marwin doesn't need time off, hinch usually would pinch run for beltran but opted not to. I think Sparks said it best on the radio, inning just got away from him, happens to every manager.

    Agreed.

Don't underestimate scouting reports and enough film on Devo now that hitters have a more solid approach.

He's still let his mechanics get out of touch... whether it's fatigue or just something he's prone to, hopefully they fix it.

Fisher has a pretty bad outfield arm thus far. Luhnow counted his arm amongst his "weapons" that Astros fans would enjoy watching. Thus far, I have not enjoyed watching that arm.

A team that is 70-40, despite extended injuries to their Cy-Young candidate and 2 MVP candidates shouldn't need to build confidence in the clubhouse. The Astros are in a funk - every team goes through them. I believe it's been mentioned that the Cubs last year had a pretty extended funk, and they were as good as anyone. The Yankees went out and made a huge splash at the deadline and then have proceeded to go 1-4 since then. It happens - that's baseball.

The team may or may not do well the rest of the season and postseason, but it won't be due to some lack of confidence that they can't beat other teams since they didn't get help and are only 10 games better than anyone else in the league.

Looked on TV and replays like it would have been a very good chance Beltran would have been thrown out. Nothing wrong with not sending any player when the result of not sending is 2nd and 3rd no outs.

The more surprising move to me (sort of) was not pinch hitting Marwin for Davis once McCann failed. That being said, nothing wrong with Hinch trying to give Davis some confidence in that situation.
