I doubt they will bring him over with less than 3 weeks left in the minor league season. But I have definitely never been this excited about a guy still in the DSL.
Celestino was brought over on August 1st last season. Quick cup of coffee would be nice so the adjustment isn't as difficult next season.
Ronnie Dawson ahhhhhhhh don't know if I can tell you what he's done because there might be some terrible snarky reply to it afterwards Spoiler he's now on a 12-game hitting streak. The last 6 (including tonight) have been multi-hit games.
Cristian Javier turned in a pretty nice start for Quad Cities too. Again, I'm expecting some terrible snarky reply, but I'll go ahead and tell you what he did. 6 IP, 3 H (solo HR allowed), 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
I noticed yesterday afternoon that Kyle Tucker had 404 PAs... 4 of them were against pitchers younger than him. eta: ~1/4 of his PAs have come against LHP this year, he is slashing: .330/.408/.642/1.050
Gilberto Celestino Spoiler went 2-5 with an RBI triple and stole a base. He's now on a 6-game hitting streak and is 9/10 in stolen base attempts this year.
Adam Bleday Spoiler is currently on a 17.1 inning scoreless streak for Greeneville. was the Astros 27th-round pick out of UPenn back in June.
J.B. Bukauskas pitched 4 scoreless innings today in the GCL. 3H, 3K, BB. This outing against the Nationals is his second start. His first start was shortened by rain. And his ERA remains at 0.00
It was actually the continuation of his first start. I'm really just here to fact-check the people trying to get in on this game and provide context when there is none.
Celestino is probably the most valuable true OF Prospect in the system after Tucker and Fisher (counting Alvarez as a DH/1B/LF).
Jake Adams hit his 8th homer for Tri-City, so he's inching closer to 40 home runs in this calendar year. That being said, he's also struck out 49 times in his first 32 games as a pro.
