Rhaegar, who is Dany's brother, made a baby with Lyanna Stark. The Mad King is Rhaegar, Viserys, and Dany's dad. So Jon is Dany's nephew.

I put everyone in this thread on ignore who I don't trust with GoT talk in the past. I mean, even if I'm over aggressive with the feature, the Ghost Effect will make it obvious, as ppl will be replying normally to a post that I can't see or laughing at a meme that doesn't appear, and I can hit Show Ignore Content....thus my trusted posters are my filter, as I'll see them talking to nobody -- the Ghost Effect. During the Rockets season....probably wouldn't use Ignore like this just for one thread....but there's nothing in the GARM right now that ignoring a dozen here would make me miss. Oh and also, can always backtrack after Ep 4 to recalibrate my Ignore list, as well. The test is people say their chat of Ep 4 gave nothing away, but even the smallest detail builds in significance as the episode plays out. Will see Sunday how innocuous their unspoilered Ep 4 comments really were. I don't want to have even seemingly innocuous tidbits in my mind that could grow in significance. That's happened before with movie spoilers. I figured something out that I shouldn't have without some tidbit someone gave away....thinking it was really minor info.
I knew John Snow was dead 4 years before it happened and I kept it to myself! How can these people not hold their friggin tongue for a week? They're honestly being assholes. Anyway, thanks for replying, I'm staying out of this previously very entertaining thread for a while. Sorry you read some potential spoilers. I know you are a fan of the show and anytime crap comes out it sucks for those looking to be surprised by the plot and the turns. This ain't friggin shakespeare. I just wrote about Moby Dick in my blog and was feeling terrible about the spoilers I delivered, but then I had to remind myself that Hitler came after Melville's masterpiece.
I understand and respect this perspective. This is exactly why I chose to watch the leak. It's an unfortunate situation that shouldn't have happened, but I'd rather get ahead of it than be upset/on edge until sunday. I learned my lesson back when the 4 episodes leaked during season 5
