Like I just said, my father immigrated into this country as a top engineer in his field. He would not have been able to come with this law because he'd have to have left my mom permanently behind. To call me racist for stating this is mind boggling and shows you are simply propagating the white-nationalist playbook - that or you are truly stupid. Or maybe both. Either way, stop playing this stupid game. Are you stupid or what?
Reasonable difference to point out, but it would still be hypocritical of any previous immigrant, or descendant, regardless of where they immigrated from, to say "whoa nellies... we got ours already... too bad for you." And that is what this bill does... stop immigrants. Legal immigrants.
Not saying it isn't hypocritical just pointing out one reason why the children of Cuban immgrants might not feel the plight of other immigrants. Anyway when it comes to a principled stand Ted Cruz is not your guy. Trump didn't just visciously insult Cruz he also spread the rumor that Cruz's father was involved in the assasination of Kennedy and insulted his wife's looks. Now Cruz eagerly carries water for Trump. I doubt many would be so willing to go support someone who publicly said things like that about your father and wife.
Wanting to be with family is the number one driving force to immigrate and is the highest number of admission for legal immigration. It's precisely why they want to cut that off. They know exactly what they are doing. As I said earlier, the party of family values is against family. What they are doing here is simply cruel.
Exactly...this is a cruel and nasty way for the Trump regime to kill the idea of America as a melting pot. The racists are celebrating.
Please work on your reading comprehension. I specifically quoted the part of your post where you said you believe the bill to be aimed at increasing the number of whites in this country. Your blind response was, to use your terms, "stupid" and did not address my reply at all. You clearly didn't bother to read the post and posted a "stupid" reply. The proposed system, if implemented as laid out by the administration, is certain to increase the numbers of immigrants from Asian nations, which have higher English proficiency and university graduate rates as compared to Latin America. So please tell me how it will "make this country more white to appease the base and make it a weaker nation." Your statement was ignorant.
I think he means that because the U.S. currently has a white majority, limiting immigration will have the overall effect of keeping the Caucasians in the majority (they have been shrinking, after all).
INCREASE immigration as a way to grow GDP? The Immigration Effect There’s a Way for President Trump to Boost the Economy by Four Percent, But He Probably Won’t Like It. https://projects.propublica.org/gra...ial&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=1501713547
^^^ and idea also supported in this American Enterprise Institute blog. Instead of cutting legal immigration in half over a decade, let’s increase it http://www.aei.org/publication/inst...ation-in-half-over-a-decade-lets-increase-it/
I haven't gotten upset at the economy so far under Agent Orange. It's give and take according to that article. From your article funded by left leaning donors.... As a whole, immigrants tend to have more children, which means that state and local governments bear the burden of providing education. They also tend to have lower earnings, which means they pay less in taxes. The National Academies report found that in most scenarios, immigrants take in more in public services than they pay in taxes, especially at the state and local level.
I am in the tech industry, so this op-piece in Wired Magazine caught my eye... TRUMP'S RADICAL IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN WON'T HELP TECH https://www.wired.com/story/raise-act-tech-immigration-policy/
Which is why the decision to cut immigration would be a good idea, especially if the cuts came from the pool of unskilled immigrants and there was a focus on letting in more skilled immigrants. That said, you know how it is, if the Trump administration suggests something, we have certain members here that feel like they have to make it sound evil.
We bring in the "best and brightest", yet we get hacked by a bunch of alcoholic Boris's living in their hermit-huts in Siberia.
two btw's... Trump is supposedly thinking about Stephen Miller as his new Comms Director. And, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), where then Senator Sessions Comms Director Stephen Miller is speaking at, has been accused of having ties to white supremacist groups, was founded by John Tanton (a eugenics proponent who is believd to promote an ethnic white majority).
The reason that no one who matters cares about ignorant accusations of "white supremacy" or ties to "white supremacist groups" is that those on the left claim that anyone who doesn't agree with them is a white supremacist. As a result, those kinds of accusations have less than no credibility no matter who they are aimed at. Also, you do know that Stephen Miller is a Jew right? That doesn't really wash with claims that he's a white supremacist or claims that he's anti-Semitic whcih have been swirling around. Perhaps you guys should go off of more than the fact that he disagrees with you politically and the color of his skin....just a thought.
