It's about to be a rough couple of weeks. Our bullpen isn't good enough right now, and any game that includes White, Reed, and Marisnick together is going to be a really tough win. The best thing Lunhow can do right now is go get someone like Verlander. At least he would allow Hinch to rest most of the bullpen every once in a while.
Okay...now I'm getting a little worried. It's not so much the losing...I don't like the body language of the players. I hope this is just a brief slump (perhaps aided by injuries to key players) and not a sign of something worse. Even if the Astros have a collapse to finish out the season (I'd consider anything less than 95 wins a collapse), they should still have the best record in the AL. But this team, even at full strength, is going to be a first round exit if they don't recover their swagger. I suspect that most of the players quietly agree with what Keuchel said several days ago.
No bullpen chaos! this series was an odd one, all the fortune went to Tampa bay, from robbing sure hits, to globetrotter baseball relay throws. They'll get out of the funk.
Yea. I am concerned as well. I think Lunhow has been given an expensive mulligan opportunity in the form of a waived Verlander. Maybe he isn't our savior from a performance stand point, but I bet he could be our savior from a clubhouse attitude standpoint.
Rays have the most blown leads in the entire league yet managed to win three in a row against us at home, pretty amazing they didn't manage to blow at least one of those leads with the pen they have. Yeah, yeah we are missing Correa and Springer but man these last few games have been a pitiful display of offense. And Liriano is a gas can, but at least now he's our gas can.
