I'm not a huge fan of this pen either but if our SP go deep and the offense is clicking we don't need much out of them. There are guys in the pen capable of doing what's needed in October. It's a matter of keeping them fresh and getting them in a good groove going into playoffs.
I wonder what we could have acquired for Reed and Musgrove before call ups last year? Granted hindsight is 20/20 and Musgrove was decent in his first stint. All I'm saying is that having so many untouchables seems silly year after year given the failure rate of MLB prospects.
Uhh, for the first two months of the season Keuchel and McCullers consistently went deep and the pen was much better than it has been lately.

You mean they guys who have been injured consistently the last two years should be counted on to give big innings down the stretch? Magical thinking.
DK If those guys don't show up in a October then the team has no chance anyway. So this entire season has been one big illusion then under that thinking.
