More and more signs that both sides of the aisle want a complete investigation and follow through as rumors persist that Trump tries to get Mueller fired?

Senate bill would allow Mueller to challenge firing in court

I believe some in the administration will be spending time behind bars, but I think at this point Trump is still home free, "I do not know anything defense" is very powerful.

You know its a bad day for Trump when the leak of embarrassing conversations with world leaders including his calling NH a drug den is NOT the worst news for the White House...

Seriously. Get ready for the ramping up of attacks against Mueller by the administration and its supporters.

LOL, already trying. Claiming Mueller must not have a case if he is resorting to going to Grand Jury (since GJ allow anything supposedly). And Newt is spinning that its a witch hunt, that Mueller really doesn't care about Russia, just wants to get revenge on Trump, and after all, the Russians didn't alter the election.

It's a grand jury, a great jury. You know, people always said I was on the best juries. You know I was on the OJ jury, terrible tragedy what happened there. The foreman, he called me and said I gave the best speech ever in the history of juries to that jury. But they didn't listen. They didn't listen. Sad. Then look what he did? He killed someone else right? Oh I don't know, I didn't say that, it's just what people say. I don't know. Sad. Listen, I've got nothing to hide. I was talking with some people, the smartest people you know, amazing brains, and they all said, they said "Donald, you're amazing. You're the best president you have nothing to hide!" and I said "I know, I'm like a really great person" and I don't know why these juries they won't leave me alone! They are Mexicans on the jury too, and I love Mexicans, I eat Taco Bell all the time, but it's not fair. I said it's not fair you know, these Mexicans can't judge me fairly because I'm throwing out the bad hombres. But it's going to be fine. It will be amazing. We're going to make America great AGAIN.

    Nothing burger

In the more than 162,500 cases prosecuted by U.S. attorneys from 2009 to 2010, grand juries voted not to return an indictment in only 11, according to data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics — equivalent to one in 14,759 cases, or 0.0068 percent.

Obstruction of Justice is the crime that keeps on giving.

Meritless/abuse of process lawsuits to impede an Obstruction of Justice indication are on-the-record proof of....Obstruction of Justice.

If any Trump supporters actually do this they are taking an enormous risk for somebody who would not ever take the same one for them...so good luck with that as well as finding an attorney who wants to keep his license to do this for them.

Sad attempt. Trump, to Turnbull: "I am the world’s greatest person".

Either as part, or standalone, I think Subornation of Perjury is already been admitted to by Trump, so that seems like a charge. Plus, there have been so many financial improprieties and Mueller's team has experts focused on that I'd bet emoluments charges are involved. Between those three... I'd guess a pretty strong case can be made... of course, if something ties in collusion... my bet Trump immediately resigns.

No chance on an immediate Trump resignation. None. If something actually emerges that will ultimately force him to resign he will go down with a massive tantrum.

I don't think he will ever resign, short of natural/health causes - he will have to be removed from office by either impeachment or the 25th amendment - no matter how bad it is for the country - if he sees it in his interest to not resign, he won't resign. That's Donald Trump. Maybe a pardon-deal would be the only thing that would force him out.

It's up to the Republican party, particularly those in Congress and the cabinet, to save us and the institutions of democracy from Trump and his cabal and his corrosive, debilitating reign.

It is their moment of truth in that it's a test of their willingness to sacrifice what they perceive to be short term political gain for the common good.

And thus far, they are failing this test about as badly as one could possibly fail it.

I don't know man, I know everyone is really critical of the GOP for Trump being President, but they are actually doing a decent job, at least in the Senate, of working to protect our institutions from Trump. 538 did a piece on this that despite silence or even public support, a lot of steps have been taken to make sure the Special Prosecutor has the power to do what needs to be done.

For example, if Trump doesn't fire Mueller it will be largely because the GOP made it so toxic for him if tries to.
