Where's his Phoenix season? I seriously doubt that team advanced after he threw a towel in Danny ainge's face?

You haven't proven anything and the opposite could be said about your posts in here. I don't remember a single post of yours that was on topic or said anything about Horry. I still want to get this thing back to Robert Horry. Dude was a slick magician. He made a whole career out of being overlooked.

He was moved to LA that same season. They beat Portland then lost to the Jazzholes.

So you're just going to ignore the tinman quotes I posted, which were made before anyone mentioned McGrady or even hinted at it. It's a fact and everyone can check page 1 of this thread.

It's not even debatable, seriously, why are you even denying it?

Really thought you were a very reasonable poster and always liked your posts, not sure why you insist on lying in this thread and play dumb when it comes to things that everyone can look up.

I absolutely liked your last post where you mention you want to see newer fans relive the glory, want to educate them etc.

But even there, you have to make something up and say how guys like me don't respect these championships and don't want to celebrate them. I could dig up other posts I made in this thread, where I explicitly say I love the history of our team and would like to see more threads about them, if they were void of derailing jabs.

Really don't understand why you do this, it doesn't accomplish anything and only helps the idiotic behaviour that leads to all of these threads getting derailed.

And Horry would trade all of that for Barkley's career...

...Dan Le Batard writes an article about NBA veteran Robert Horry, clutch big game player (his nickname is Big Shot Bob) and owner of six championship rings earned with the Rockets, Lakers and Spurs, but never an A-list star player.

Turns out Horry would trade all those championships for the chance to be a superstar. Writes Le Batard: "Would you rather have your career or Charles Barkley's, Big Shot Bob? 'Barkley's,' Horry says. 'You want to win a championship, but you want to be considered one of the best of all time. All-Star. Hall of Fame. Even though I won championships, I'd take Charles' career."

I think he would have millions more on his account if he were a star..... he was fairly durable. He will have to play much more in the Regular season though.

Everyone wants to carry a team on their shoulder if they could.

Ha, good find. I would love to follow up that question with, "But do you have any regrets with your playing career?" "Do you think Charles Barkley has any regrets?"

Unfortunately, the link to the original article no longer is valid and I couldn't find the LeBetard article. I saved the verbiage from years ago because I found his attitude interesting. I guess, to each his own, but I would like to think I would have wanted Horry's career - key contributor to numerous championships. But, unless I actually experienced it, I'm not qualified to say how I would definitely feel.

I would like to hear what Barkley has to say as well.

I think it is mostly fans .... Barkley was a top talent, he had a good chance to win it all, he just bumped into Top 15 talents of Alltime in his era.

I could see him care less once he retired... it is just random fans who compare players and then they go.... oh see Dirk and KG got ships, they must be much better......

Sir Charles rebounded like the best of them, more consistent than Dirk and KG.

Yeah the legacy would be better with a championship but let's be honest, Barkley had a very good career, it just missed the cherry at the top of his cake.

You really think Barkley is in Dirk range? I think Dirk is super underrated as PF. I think he might be the best PF ever. Especially if you ignore his non-rebounding elements of his defense. But when you compare the defense of Chuck and Dirk, Chuck doesn't exactly blow him away. Anyway, it's probably a pretty good discussion as I have no dogs in the fight. Ranking KG, Dirk, Chuck 1/2/3 would be tough.

Only people who are player only fans think like this.
I remember in the YOF days pryuen posted an article saying the media hates Yao .
When we read it it was an article about Lebron shooting free throws and he was mad Yao had one sentence only in the article

It's not luck if it's your entire career

It's not like NBA players don't control their destiny .
The rockets won two titles when they added Horry
He was exceptional in the clutch

Nah.... you are right but if you have long player surrounding a tad undersized Chuck....Chuck playing to his strength that is a gimme.

Spacing is always good for the team.....depending on how your roster is being built.

Chuck is very different from 7ft Dirk and KG.....he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

McGrady defended Dirk well so I think Chuck can give him problems once Dirk's shot is off.

He'll still get 60% of the rebounds. He could box out his man and 3 teammates at a time then high point the ball with the best of em'.

he's trolling to get the last word in this post. Anything he says about Horry is insincere.

I made 86 threads about Horry in the GARM . I bet you he has made none.

It's kind of sad that some of you can't even appreciate honest posts, create fake narratives and are trying to make this about your agenda again.
And then you talk about me derailing the thread and not respecting the franchise.

As I've said before, it looks extremely hypocritical and I sincerely wish you'd stop being childish in these situations.

My offer of both of us never talking about or even hinting at McGrady and truly honoring Clutch City more (eg Historical thread of the week, game recaps, videos, articles) still stands, but I only see negative replies and cheap denial, even when a thread is started with a "advancing past 1st round" comment or a "I can't say that about the last Max Salary Wing/Guard we had" comment that only applies to McGrady and wasn't even a reply to anything about McGrady.

If you truly respected this board, you would stop doing this, take my offer like an adult and solely focus on the current team and historical moments.
I'm not even saying this to set you up or reveal any intentions, it's a straight-up offer with only a positive outcome if you are a man of your words and want to focus on showing people the past greats.

Thank you for bumping my thread, but I doubt you care about Clutch City or were aware that there are multiple Horry threads.

If you did want to put your 2 cents in about Horry you would have done it in both threads not just mine.

Again, you aren't getting the last word in my thread so keep bumping!
