Silver lining - same record as Yankees since trade deadline and they made trades and aren't missing Judge and Sanchez (their Springtime/CC equivalents)
I find it ironic that a rookie from U/H came and shut down Astros tonight. On a positive note, the bullpen looked good.
Oof, that's the ultimate slam, IMO. Even during the World Series year, I always hated the mercurial nature of the team. Win big one night; score zero runs for a pitcher that only gave up one run on the other nights. This new team entranced me because of its consistency and versatility, not its flashy numbers. Hopefully, this is just a team slump that gets rectified when we get a few more people healthy. And thank God for the flashy lead we do have, so we can absorb some of these losses. Still, though, I don't like min/max baseball. C'mon, guys.
I can't imagine how we fare against Chris Sale or Kluber in the playoff even with a healthy springer and correa
Speaks to the depth of the organization that they can have two of their best three hitters on the DL, two/three other good, proven hitters on the bench, and still be able to put out a lineup with 5+ .800 OPS hitters.
I know it is cliche' and I know it is not the case mathematically. BUT, the guys REALLY need a W big time.
