I actually agree with Trump that this isn't a good law. Constitutionally diplomacy is within the purview of the Executive and not the Legislative branch and agree that the Executive should have more power when it comes to negotiations. I think it's a bad idea for Congress to be taking the lead on foreign relations. That this wouldn't even be an issue if Trump had accepted the overwhelming evidence of Russian meddling in the last US election along with not downplaying Putin's awful human rights record and drawing a moral equivalency with the US.
I don't agree. The Constitution did not put all the tools of diplomacy in the hands of the executive. A declaration of war is left to Congress, and it's part of the diplomacy toolkit. Sanctions are a lot like war; it's an act of foreign hostility. I think it is appropriate for Congress to assert some oversight. It doesn't even totally remove the lifting of sanctions from the toolkit. The president can ask Congress to lift it, and they probably would if it's part of a negotiation where we actually get something for it. Our Cuba sanctions are like this as well. When Obama normalized relations, he couldn't do it unilaterally because many of the sanctions were installed by Congress.
First... looks like Kellyanne has a new beautician... nice new hair. Second, watch her flinch when she here's Trump's lawyer...
The attacks on CNN are brilliant. I watched her argue with Chris cuomo and tell him that CNN doesn't cover things that they literally had covered throughout the night. When the clip plays on talk radio though she'll be labeled as defending trump and they all agree that CNN doesn't cover the topics. Trump says CNN doesn't report on the stock market anymore and his fans believe it. It's amazing.
CNN and other outlets, except for Fox News, covers all the topics Trump is pissed that news outlets, unlike Fox News, don't do PR work for the POTUS, like the People's Daily does for China Perhaps, that's why the Trump admin is starting its state-sponsored media, TrumpTV on Facebook http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/kayleigh-mcenany-leaves-cnn-to-host-trump-tv/337426
I would disagree in that I don't think CNN and the other outlets cover MS13 and immigration crime stories as much as they could and sometimes not at all.
Interesting possible turn of what was just a silly story involving Trump, a fan that he retweeted (who turned out to be a "bot")... Here's the backstory: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...-american-people.280663/page-14#post-11254428 and here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...-american-people.280663/page-14#post-11255123 This Trump fan may actually be a Russian bot http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/08/07/this-trump-fan-may-actually-be-a-russian-bot/
Politico: Trump Thanks Putin for Expelling U.S. Diplomats Tell me why this is a good thing, Trump supporters/foreign policy experts.
You guys have spent this whole thread up in arms about their election interference So again who cares if they're so bad
