That answer should be obvious, because he's a racist. Race is everything to a person like that and we should pity him.
Where can Americans find greener pastures? India? China? Saudi Arabia? Mexico? No recourse - what so ever. It is becoming more difficult for Americans to seek prosperity here in the US, and the numbers reflect it. Born in a Chicago warzone? You're probably going to die in a Chicago warzone. #AmericaFirst #DataFirst
LOL... Stephen Miller was sure awesome today... Conservatives call for end to on-camera White House briefings after explosive exchanges http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...nd-to-on-camera-briefings-after-explosive-day
This. We should be investing in trade schools and we should absolutely be rethinking education. I would be in favor for a pre-k to "14th" grade system, where grades 13 and 14 are part of a 4 year college or trade school. I think we should try and have kids get as much college credit they can in their junior and senior years if they can handle it.
Make American culturally white again? There are a number of reasons listed in the article, but that seems to be one related to immigration. No recourse - not really. It's within each of us to compete. That's the hard truth. But as the article indicate, some folks aren't comfortable with the different culture of other places - that's a personal choice for not moving.
How about Texas? Or Tennessee? Or Alabama? Or Georgia? Carolinas? Virginia? Still plenty of places with good jobs and lower costs of living. The economic history of America is moving to where the jobs are in this vast country. Employment rate is low and has been low for the last couple of years.
Miller was the stooge right? Miller didn't know what he was talking about and didn't make sense in his obnoxious quarreling.
Let's put to bed the idea that letting unskilled immigrants is a significant factor in displacing American workers and driving wages down. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/22/us/immigrants-arent-taking-americans-jobs-new-study-finds.html It just isn't a major factor. Furthermore, agriculture and many other businesses rely heavily on unskilled immigrants to keep their businesses going. This bill would hurt those folks. It might also drive up demand for entering illegally.
Don't know how fluent Mrs. Trump was but re: Trump's grandfather... no English, no occupation upon arrival:
No, it didn't. The idea that statue which didn't have a pedestal, to begin with, got the poem with the pedestal doesn't in any way change the significance of the poem, and the meaning of the statue and poem in regards to immigration. For Miller to get sidetracked on that just made him like he didn't know the significance of what he was discussing.
What is the problem with referencing one of the quintessential symbols of the uniquely American perspective on immigration in a discussion about immigration?
The sentiment of the poem does not reflect anything about United States immigration law. Instead, immigration law consists of various regulations and statutory law that ensures the protection of the border as well as opening doors to individuals and families who come to the United States legally. However, the law does not advocate an unvetted process for people to arrive in the United States simply because they are "tired, poor, or your huddled masses." To insinuate that immigration policy should be an open-borders system simply because it makes one feel good does nothing positive for the United States and its citizens.
They're insinuating that the poem reflects America's immigration tradition and the basis for the American Dream. That's why the poem doesn't say give us your wealthy, fat cat, English speaking Swiss bankers yearning to exploit US tax law. Why does that have to be explained to you?
