Yeah this ain't gonna get it done. Major problems with the rotation and the bullpen. Keuchel has sucked and I saw that coming. Hopefully he rebounds but this looks bad.
Think Keuchel should have stepped up verbally before the deadline, that would have sent the message about morale, but after the deadline passed, he should have kept quiet and rallied the troops together internally. Team is still learning how to handle success. Midlevel band rising to stardom.
Couldn't really expect Keuchel to come back and not miss a beat with him being out a couple of months or so. That's probably why he went on that rant about the front office not shoring up pitching because he knew he couldn't be depended on to be the savior.
The excitement brought upon by a trade was almost as needed as the potential talent addition. We're in a rut.
Bregman with the DEEP double to the gap. Marisnick with the crap (but effective) bunt. Awesome slide by the Bregster. Two runs, minimum, here
I think he did. It was reported also he asked for reinforcements in 2015. Not sure about last year but if media said lack of trades last year affected the clubhouse then players were ecpecting reinforcements. It is the FO's job. And reasonable conclusion is Luhnow failed to do his job of ensuring best team for playoffs. Either prospect love or owner does not plan to pay current stars big FA money, thus hanging on to prospects who will replace them. Players want to know that the FO values them correctly.
