Super psyched we didn't bolster our depleted, injury prone starting rotation. Not sure what all those other contenders were thinking trading prospects for proven players to help them in October. Ps I'm starting to hate bourgois(?)
Mariners play 18 of next 25 on road. Don't think they are capable of going on type of streak necessary to catch us if we suddenly start playing worse than .500 ball rest of season. And, despite our injuries I still think we manage .500 over next 56 games which gets us to 97 wins.
Keuchel causing grounders that are too weak. Runners have more time to reach 1st. ____ He got a call on that 2nd strike. End this inning scoreless please. Big AB here with the basses juiced. Eta - NICE !!!
Bunch of scrappy players who create contact and play good defense. Reminds me of those A's teams that used to stomp our lights out.
Second start after two months on DL. Prior to that he was back to his 2015 cy young form. If anyone has earned the right to speak out of turn it's Keuchel. Dude worked his way from obscurity on god awful Astros teams. I have no problem with him venting. Ideally he'd keep things out of press but not everything can be so damned buttoned up.
I'm not saying he went about it the right way with ranting to the media... I agree though that the team f-ed up. He needs to pitch better for a # of reasons, not just his rant.
Visiting team getting into our heads a little earlier in the game than usual. Well, aside from yesterday.
I was thinking we'd eventually get to this scrub Rays pitcher and then saw he's from the Woodlands. Shutout incoming.
That usually never lasts long with our lineup even with injuries. Now if Dallas can just hold them to 2. I'd be shocked if this guy holds us down all game.
Been watching since the 2nd inning... he looks good. Keeping the ball down and causing a bunch of weak contact.
