I have a tremendous amount of faith in Morey, this man knows what he's doing.

stop with the crazy talk of taking on Noah, giving up Capela, etc...sit back and let this man cook

"Before sitting down a final time with Pelinka, Presti became more serious in his discussions with Morey. Houston wanted Harden badly, believed he would evolve into a transcendent franchise star for a championship-caliber team and planned to award him a five-year maximum contract worth nearly $80 million. So, Presti laid out what he wanted for Harden and the original price was steep: Kevin Martin, Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lamb and three first-round picks, including Houston's own in 2013.

Across 72 hours and culminating on Friday night, the deal became this: Martin, Lamb and two first-round picks."

some people on here would've handed Presti everything he was asking for

BALTIMORE -- Carmelo Anthony said Wednesday he is at "peace" with his current situation but isn't sure whether or not he will remain with the New York Knicks.

Anthony, speaking to reporters at The Basketball Tournament's Day of Giving in Baltimore, said he has not met with the Knicks about his situation.

Anthony has been connected to the Houston Rockets as a possible trade target this offseason. League sources have told ESPN that Houston is Anthony's preferred destination if he waives his no trade clause and is dealt. However, he declined to comment Wednesday when asked about the Rockets.

"You know I can't comment on that," he said with a smile.

He called the last 12 months an "emotional roller coaster."

Asked about Phil Jackson's firing, Anthony called it a "business" decision and that owner James Dolan has to run his organization.

Anthony received the Medal of Honor from Mayor Catherine Pugh for his service to the city of Baltimore. He called the honor more important than any of his three Olympic gold medals.

Money is actually on record as one of those people. In an interview he actually said he would have traded everyone to get harden. Hyperbole, but clearly he would have given everything that was asked. He just was smart enough not to do that. Same thing going on here - maybe the bottom line is that he would give up capela or ego in a trade but he doesn't feel like he needs to so he's holding out.

Morey has given Melo the directive via CP3 and Harden. Melo is at peace, sending the message that he is threatening to opt IN next summer, to further motivate the Knicks to move him.

Odd that he supposedly hasn't met with the Knicks. Be a man!

Morey negotiated down like any smart person would do in that situation, that's all that matters. Some people on here would've just handed over the 3 picks to go along with Martin, Lamb, and Parsons.

Morey won't be giving up a guy like Capela or Ego because the Knicks want to move on from Melo, Melo has a NTC, and Melo only wants to come to Houston.

I think Aldridge meant to write "Melo would not comment" as opposed to "commit". Two totally different meanings.

Not surprising. I'm pretty sure we were all under the impression that he was frustrated that he was told he was being moved to Houston, then talks stalled, so Melo then let his representatives handle the conversations.

Agreed he meant comment, but the way the sentence is structured makes the message more or less mean the same thing.

What is there to meet about?

Melo does not want to start the season in a Knicks uniform. He's not expanding his list. He only wants to go to Houston. The Knicks know what the deal is. They can refuse to trade him if they want to, but it will end up becoming an even bigger circus there. I don't think Melo will morph into Boogie Cousins in the locker room like some people seem to be suggesting on here because he's a professional, but it won't be a good environment for the rest of the players on the team.

It's funny how the media keeps doing things like that and mentioning Cleveland, and Portland, and OKC. Anything EXCEPT the main fact. Just like with LeBron it has to be LA. CP3 has to be the Spurs or LA. Write an article about banana boat and give equal consideration to LA and NY with Houston.
