I believe Zhou Qi is either August 4th or 5th. Though I'm not too optimistic he's what tips the scale in getting a deal done :)

To lump rynos contract in with leonards is just wrong. Leonards useless with a toxic contract. Anderson is very useful in todays nba with a bad contract. Huge difference.

Ryan would still get 3/60 in todays market, but no team is going to give up an asset and give ryan that deal....and help another team form a superteam.

The thing I worry about is that the Knicks are so used to being a complete joke of an organization that there's a chance they won't be worried about continuing to be a complete joke of an organization. It's not like people can think less of the Knicks by them holding Melo hostage.

i don't think ryno can start for more than perhaps a couple teams in the league and is much better suited to being a rotation player off the bench, as he was with NOP. so i really don't think he'd get $20M x 3yrs in today's market. closer to half that. and i agree he's a much more useful player than leonard. but leonard is also making half his salary and with 1 less year on his contract, so that's the trade off in value. i mean negative value..

This is not a usual situation. In fact, from my experience following the league, it's unprecedented. They literally told Carmelo he would be traded to Houston before backing off. I'm very, very confident this happened. Now, should they have done that? Of course not, not until terms were agreed to. (Side note: Knicks gonna Knick.) But you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, at this point. It's NOT ridiculous at all to think that going back on their word with the franchise icon and one of the league's most powerful, influential stars could hurt them with future free agents.

If you want to argue that taking back certain contracts is STILL worse than that scenario, you could. I wouldn't agree with you, but it's a defensible position. However, those on the other side aren't ridiculous. It's an unprecedented situation, to my knowledge, and it absolutely could have very real repercussions for NYK down the line.

I think they want cap space. Saving money doesn't matter if it doesn't get them the cap space they want.

I still think a trade will happen, I agree with you, but I'm not 100% on it. I think there is still a chance (greater than 1% lol) that the Knicks will just hold Melo and suck it up.

Leonard is still making over $10 million per and is useless. Thats toxic on any books.

I think ryno is a great starter in todays nba. No other 4/5 shot better than him. He is the ultimate stretch four. Guys like harden, giannis, and lillard easily flourish next to ryan Anderson. Reddick is older, and is much worse defensively and he got $23 million.

We were third in the nba with him starting. We were 5-5 when he didnt play and a 500 team last season with dwight. I dont understand why people complain about andersons deal when the rockets were clearly better when dwight was off the floor or did not play. The same cannot be said of anderson.

I'll be the a**hole who answers (and to make myself an even bigger a**hole, let me mention, it's spelled as one word. Unless we're talking about a bullet wound, maybe. OUCH!)

If there were any real news about Melo it would probably take several seconds for the site to load when you open it. Otherwise, business as usual.

Teams rarely trade Star for Star. You trade your weak-link (trash) and see what you can get. So likewise, the other time is willing to take our trash because it makes them better, but they want to get rid of their trash to make room.

If Ryno comes in as the 3rd best player on a new team, they are going to try and move 4-15. The lower down the pecking order the better.

Unloading "toxic" contracts is the goal of EVER team. But you have to remember not all teams are created equal. Some of GSW "Toxic" contracts
would be welcome starters on other teams. Those teams would probable have to trade "Toxic" players to make room.

Point being Anderson is included in the Melo talks because a) Salaries are close, b) they will play the same position and Melo is an upgrade. His contract might be the least desirable on the Rockets, but one teams trash is another teams upgrade (treasure was too strong of a word).

Also, deals don't get done for numerous reasons. One owner is stubborn, PG goes down with a season ending injury, a PG becomes available that no-one thought would, a team re-thinks its position. You insisting it is because of this one point is closed minded.

A report came out after the Crabbe trade that the Melo deal had been held up due to no team wanting to take on Myers Leonard.

I need to dig it up, but it went largely uncirculated on here due to the Burt Steele nonsense.

Sources say Westbrook takes terrible shots and shoots his team out of games.
