What really baffles me is, do other teams really not want a stretch four that shoots somewhere in the 40% especially with the way today's nba game is now or are other teams just really afraid of what we're to trying to build here in Houston. I mean looking at what all these other players are making now and how teams like Detroit with Stan Van Gundy wanted him earlier why are they not willing to help us? Ryan has been nothing but a consumate professional. We're just trying to upgrade and the only we can do that is to use his salary. What's scaring them from Ryan? It's not like we're trying to unload Parsons and his rediculous contract for Melo.

no defense, disappeared in playoffs, injury history, 3 more years and will be 32 by end of contract, extremely streaky, a headcase who can't make shots in his own arena

Wow. RA is far better than you make him out to be. His vorp is +.6, ws is over 5. His career total rebounds per 36 is 7.4. Reading your eval you'd thing RA is a total scrub - he isn't. With today's high NBA salaries in general he still doesn't perform up to $20m/Y it's probably more like $12-$14 value. I've seen no evidence of your headcase comment. It just seems you are going off the rails with being negative.

GM's are going to evaluate him somewhere in between your positive peripheral statistical analysis, and the negative (but not totally incorrect) holistic visual analysis of the other poster. This is why GM's rightly see Anderson as a bad contract, and why he has yet to be moved.

you yourself admit that he's being paid ~50% above his market value -- that is a pretty sh!tty contract

as far as him not being able to shoot at toyota center, it can't be the color blindness theory since he shoots fine in other red arenas such as CHI. so it has to be something mental

his one singular plus on the floor is his shooting, and that has an extreme variance to it. you never know what you're going to get from him shootingwise not just from game to game, but also quarter to quarter

his extensive injury history and no show this past playoffs speak for themselves

as far as being negative, apparently other gm's are asking for at least 2 first round picks in return just to start the conversation about taking on his contract. i would call that negative value indeed

When we signed that bum I knew right then we'd have a migraine trying to dump his contract.

Heh, I guarantee you have no genuine information on that. I get it, you are negative on the guy but that is feeding your completely idle speculation but hey it's cool you have such deep insight on the strategies and thought processes of NBA GM's.

And by the way your own post is an example of how negativity affects logic as you state my own valuation at ~50% when I stated clearly 60-70%. You see how you significantly fudged the numbers to make your point?

The thing with today`s NBA is: teams are willing to overpay FAs, but they stay away like the plague from trading for overpaid players. Somehow they'd think, if they overpay for a FA, he will play up to his new salary, but if a player has already proven, that he is overplayed, they don't want no part of him.

Yes, RA is overpayed. Like a lot of players are today. But he is no scrub. He is a solid rotational player, that should make something like 10-12 million per year in today's NBA. He can be valuable to a lot of teams.

Right now, if we want Melo we need to include Ariza, Gordon or Capela. We just need to figure out, if that's worth it for us or not.

NO IT DOES NOT!!! Rockets would have to drop or trade Ryno and others to come up with the 27 million for Melo. A buyout of Melo effectively ends our pursuit and would be a worst case scenario.

Yeah there is consistent re hash of all these articles I think people have to relax and be patient. Until the Kyrie situation is completed, I think NY will hold Melo's trade on the shelf again. It seems Kyrie is really wanting NY. The Knick with their hubris think that they will have him land there. The only way that happens if they find a third team.

Its kind of poetic, if you think about it. The Knicks are in the same position as us. They want a superstar level player, but have no assets that will be able to be sent (Carmelo doesn't count cause of the NTC), and would require a third or 4th team to help them out hahaha.

    So Knicks management.........

Melo now only wants to be traded to the Rockets. Time to put the kids and women to bed because Morey is about to play hardball. The Knicks probably should have taken our first offer whatever it was because this next offer won't be pretty. The Cavs being on his wish list was literally the only lil bit of leverage they had left.

That "2 first round picks" requirement came from Zach Lowe and Bobby Marks. Unfortunately your guarantee is wrong.
