The Astro are like a marriage that starts out great and then ends in a divorce because the man would not spend money to keep his wife happy.
Bottom line is If we do nothing, we are betting big that Keuchel and McCullers will finish up the year and playoffs as aces
The price is too high. He's like the guy who comes to your garage sale and asks if you'll sell the treadmill for $20. Then walks away shocked when you say no.
Yea, the Cubs and Red Sox are in it for the long haul too but they understand its ok to spend prospects to pick up elite talents. Also you don't have to trade for a rental... You can trade for proven talent with multiple years making your window bigger and giving you higher odds
Yep, and we were doing all that without the help from prospects either.. because, you know, they don't effect major league play. We could have shored up our injury depleted rotation and added some help. Adding a LOOGY for one of our starting outfielders was not all we should have done in my opinion.
Describing Aoki as "one of our starting outfielders" is a bit generous. He was a 4th outfielder at best that was clearly a big hole in an otherwise stellar line-up (Beltran notwithstanding) that didn't give much on defense. I, for one, am excited to see Fisher get the full promotion.
Sadly the players will see that we are not willing to go all in to increase our chances. Hope we do something this offseason.
Man what a disappointment. Yes the Astros still have the best record in the AL, and they may very well win the WS. The issue is, if they don't win the WS, the city, players, media will question Lunhow and wonder what could have been. Luckily, the Astros SHOULD be in this position for the next 5 years, but doing nothing doesn't bring extra hope or believe from the current roster. Especially a pitching staff that has been injured most of the season and has recently been in a slump.
Yes, that's right! Or they will not make it at this level One of those two things is true Glad we didn't move last years untouchables, Reed and Musgrove
feels like I'm making and winning an ebay bid only to get sniped. Bring up Tucker to make me forget this trading deadline.
