Again, I'm fine with the trade, but how do we give up significantly more for Liriano than the Indians did for Smith? I get that Liriano is a lefty, but Smith is the better pitcher (at a much cheaper cost) by pretty much every single metric.
T That package is WAY too much considering what the Yankees gave up. Fowler is #77 on the top 100, a deal centered around Franklin Perez OR Fisher with some nice throw ins like JD Davis and Cionel Perez should have been enough to get this deal done.

And Roy O, in 2001. Lose a guy who won 15 games between May and September right before playoffs. Hernandez, another rookie with a great showing in the rotation, was also hurt.
