Ugh... I swear, if Cleveland and Dodgers pick up the rest of the starters I'm gonna be pissed. Standing pat with our rotation will not get it done, adding a starter could even bolster the pen. Also, eff the Yankees. Sidenote: what would this have cost comparatively to us? Fisher, Moran, Perez? I would have been down for that.
Red Sox got Addison Reed... Are we going to be the only contending team that stands pat? If Darvish goes to LA we are in trouble.
Not sure the A's would have done it without Whitley. All of those guys for the Yankees are very good prospects. Only knock is that 2 of them are out for the rest of the season with injuries. I think we likely would have had to give up Whitley, Alvarez and Fisher. Not saying I would or would not have been okay with that. Just think that's what it would have taken.
Ouch. Purely on ranking, that's our equivalent Fisher, Paulino, and Jake Rogers.... I'd do that in a heartbeat. Yankees also got an extra 1.5 mill in international slot money. Ugh.
Fisher, F Perez, and Alvarez would have beaten that package, and I think every one of us would have been fine with that. This is perfectly alright to miss on Gray, so long as he gets another impact deal (likely meaning Britton or Darvish).
I am getting nervous. Special years like this do not come around often. If a playoff game ends up being a pitching dual I don't like our chances with what we have.
I hate to say it. I don't wanna face the Indians in the postseason until ALCS. They are the only team I really fear and the Yankees have made leaps. They are catching up. Luhnow might cave and make a move now.
Losing Gray kinda sucks. 40 min for Luhnow to do something to give this team that final boost we really need.
