Like MLB Network stated, I don't know if I trust him because of his walk rate. Could I trust him? Probably. But maybe we can work some magic with him and turn him into that lefty specialist out of the pen.
Only thing I could think of... Could you duct tape Tony Sipp and a B-grade prospect for him? Liriano's annual salary this year is 13.7 million. Sipp makes $6 million both this year and next... the pro-rated portion of Liriano is basically Sipp's 2018 salary. Otherwise, I think you end up cutting Sipp as dead weight.
I actually like liriano as a lefty specialist out of the pen. Thinking outside the box on luhnows part. Could be a huge steal and acquisition based on the price tag on some of these relievers.
Liriano has been dominant against LHHs this season. Like the move a lot, think someone like Jason Martin could be the headliner going to Toronto. Small chance of Laureano.
Hmm maybe. I don't think we mind paying up for him. I hope we didn't give up Fisher. Maybe it's Kemp?
after Harris' continued issues with inflammation, just liriano wouldn't do it for me. Have to get the Britton deal done.
I am not disappointed...read the post I was responding to. My point was the poster said the trade deadline was disappointing the past 2 years. The poster can't have it both ways.
Agree. Only Phillips had made a Top 100 list prior to that deadline. I'm guessing he got traded because Astros were low him.
