Have people not learned anything from the OKC Thunder. You strike while the iron is HOT. Tomorrow is promised to no one
Chris Sale is a legit ace who is signed for a few years. I would have traded Bregman for him in a heartbeat. We have enough hitters.
The Orioles want young controlable pitching. Would a package of Martes/Paulino/Armentos/Teoscar be enough to get Britton/Brach?
I probably wouldn't give up Fisher in a reliever deal, but they shouldn't have to. Surely a combo of F Perez and Y Alvarez would have been more than enough to beat what they got from the Cubs.
Easier to say now in hindsight... there was also the suspicion that the Astros were more in on Quintana. Additionally, at the time, this was not the most prolific offense in Astros history... and many were concerned that the off-season additions (Reddick, McCann, Beltran) would not necessarily change that.
Is there any live podcast for the mlb trade deadline I can listen and follow at work? Similar to like the duncd on and the vertical twitter show for NBA?
Not if the Tigers don't care much for them... or maybe they weren't even offered at all. Like I said pages earlier... it almost is at a detriment (as far as making deals go) that the Astros have really great top of the list prospects. GM's aren't going to want to lose a trade to Luhnow by taking his scraps... they want to get somebody amongst the top 10-20.
One thought on Britton: given his poor performance since coming off the DL, passing medicals is no guarantee, especially with Houstons track record.

Is my sarcasm meter busted again? Thunder striking while hot without regards to the future caused them not to have money for Harden.
You should. He's put us in a flexible position to contend for next 5 years with a loaded prospect pool. He Cardinaled our system.
Lol at the people panicking that there are no moves yet. These guys would decimate the farm system just for the sake of it. If the price doesn't match what you get in return then you just don't do it. Plain and simple.
