if the choice is between swyyguy and tinman, then this is clearly the only legitimate none-of-the-above selection

Horry once said he'd trade all of those in to be Barkley.

Yeah, there is a line there I think for many role players. It's cool being a championship player but at the same time being a superstar has to be a lot better even if you never win a championship.

Of course it is and its narrow-minded to think T-Mac alone could have determined whether or not his team was able to obtain a championship. A lot of it is luck and timing when comes to the rest of the roster, health, and the landscape of the rest of the league. T-Mac was one of the most exciting players I've ever watched play NBA basketball and I'm glad we got to experience a few of those years when he was with the Rockets.

I mean...technically he's right. You can be James Jones or you can be Tracy McGrady/Allen Iverson/Steve Nash, etc. You can be Robert Horry or you can be Charles Barkley/Karl Malone/John Stockton etc. Every individual's road to championships and or team talent is different. faulting the legends without rings for spending majority of their career with garbage rosters or going up against dynasties isn't a fault of theirs. Just bad timing and luck. Others take it upon themselves to make their own destiny ie Kobe demanding to only play for he lakers(would he be a champ if he was a Hornet his whole career? Probably not.) Would Shaq be a champion if he stayed in Orlando? Probably not which means Wade probably wouldn't either. Would Kareem have any more rings had he not left Milwaukee for LA? Probably not. If that happend, how many would Magic have? Probably less and Bird and Isiah and Moses/Doc would have more. How many would Moses and Doc have if Moses played for Phila his whole youth and prime? How many rings would Duncan have if he was drafted by Minnesota and KG drafted by the Spurs instead? KD definitely wouldn't be a champ. LeBron if he stayed in Cleveland and never left? No kyrie, no Tristan and no wiggins to get Love, Lebron would probably be sitting at zero rings. Bulls never trade Olden for Pippen? That would change history. Barkley, Payton, Kemp, Malone, Stockton, Ewing, etc could all be champs. Hell, if there's no Pippen in Chicago, maybe Drexler beats the Pistons twice and becomes a back to back champ in his own city and the Rockets trade for him and Hakeem only ends up with 1. Maybe kemp/payton/pippen become a dynasty and Hakeem and Rockets get zero. This can go on forever. Point is everyone has a different road. Some a lot easier than others(Kobe/LeBron/KD).

Who the hell knows if Harden will ever win a ring? But, we will know he was good enough to be in the Hall of Fame. Same goes for CP3 and Melo.

One of T-Mac's biggest failures as a player was not knowing what NOT to say.

Just because a thought pops into your head doesn't mean you have to let it escape.

He's not wrong. Not sure the context this is in, but he probably shouldn't have said it.

I'm not even sure he's an *******. He just seems incredibly clueless about how media works, especially for someone who's spent his entire adult life right in the middle of it.

This attitude is exactly why he never won a damn thing and why he never became a great player even though he was the most physically gifted player of his generation... when you strip it all down to the core, McGrady is a loser and that won't ever change.

Smh, so, it's not about team success. It's about personal accolades?

T-Mac will always be my favorite player, but.. bruh, had you won a ship, you'd have a different tune.

Many players spent their whole lives under the spotlight, some of them with lower IQ than even Tmac but none of them came out and said something like that. I mean, even Iverson hasn't said something as stupid as that since "We're talking bout Practice".

But, whatever. My message for Tmac....

He's just saying that because he never won and he should not have been in the HOF. All stats and no substance

Yes, when it comes to the HoF its about PERSONAL accolades...notice how Robert Horry will never be in the HoF, notice how Derek Fisher will never be in the HoF, notice how Ron Harper will NEVER be in the HoF, Matt Bonner will never be in the HoF, Andrew Bynum will NEVER be in the HoF. There's a huge list of guys that have won multiple championships that will without a doubt not ever be in the HoF.

If you don't think the Lakers wouldn't have traded Fisher/Horry/Harper for T-Mac in a heartbeat, you're just kidding yourself.
