Trailer looked good, so I ended up watching the original miniseries yesterday.......what a piece of garbage, one of the worst things I've ever watched
Really? I thought it was creepy as hell. Tim Curry was terrifying. I think the self-aware pennywise is a lot scarier than a horror monster version.
Tim Curry was of course amazing, but the rest of it was terrible, just my opinion upon rewatching it recently.
You know...after the first trailer, I wasn't so sure. But now...after further consideration....HELL NO!!!!
You should take some mushrooms and go watch it after its been out for a while in a empty theater. See what happens.
Yea it's terrible. I remember thinking it was so scary when I was 7. I just laughed the entire time when I rewatched it recently. It's so corny.
holy crap! the trailer alone was scarier than 95% of horror movies i have seen. it is the only book i have ever read that truly scared me while i was reading it. i didnt even think the miniseries was that bad (especially considering it was made-for-tv), but this movie it definitely kicking it up a notch.
Wanna see something really scary? Well, I was very young when I watched this. It freaked me out at the time. To me, it's a "must see" if you haven't seen it. Spoiler Demon Seed (1977) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075931/ The original "IT" was pretty bad in retrospect. But, it had its charm. It had an unusual cast which kind of worked. You always knew it was a bit off while watching it. It was just a lower standard production at the time. Everyone was getting high on King and making his books into films seemingly in spades. Nothing tops "Creepshow" back in the day. As for the new one, I'm in no hurry to see it unless word of mouth is crazy good about it.
I never have an interest in horror or supernatural-themed movies... but I am somehow... drawn toward IT.
I re watched the mini series recently and enjoyed it. I usually try to put things in perspective and considering that it was made for TV and when it was made, it's not so bad. I'm super excited about this though.
