This is going to be a short low scoring game with half our line-up injured and two aces going. Yeah I said it, our ace.
Looking forward to seeing Nola pitch. Also from the article last page, I love this sentence: Bregman has spent the last month excelling almost more so than almost all of his counterparts at the position.
I get the joke, and I get your point, but shouldn't Peacock be our ace if we are giving that title based on unexpected excellent performances?
The lineup sure looks less intimidating when you subtract George Springer, Carlos Correa, & Alex Bregman plus no DH.
Yes, Bregman is with us for 6 years but I don't think anyone would advocate trading him for a rental. The ToR we would be willing to trade him for would be someone locked up for a few years.... a DeGrom or Sale (if we had done that trade). That gives you an ToR guy for this important 3 year window before guys like Springer start hitting free agency. A fairer analysis would include the fact that the ToR you'd be willing to trade him for would give you multiple years of service.
Damn lollygagger should have been on 3rd! Found a new amazingly good Texas beer today while at lunch with granny, it will be in Spec's in the somewhat near future: https://www.altstadtbeer.com/#fine-german-beer Their Kolsch is top-shelf.
I know Pettis sucks, but why did Altuve look back advancing, as that in my opinion is just bad base running. Not because he went on the grounder, which was questionable, but just for looking back when A) It won't make a difference, B) It slows you down, and C) you have a third base coach.
It does look a bit underwhelming. Then you see that we still have 4 .300 hitters and it makes you appreciate this team even more when everyone is healthy. We are going to run roughshod over the AL come playoffs time, WS here we come.
