I'm gonna guess that if Sterling sued the NBA those previous comments wouldn't matter cause he was kicked out over those tapes
Its hard to assess what the Clippers are worth being in LA but clearly being the second team but I think the Bucks being sold for $550million only months before adds to my argument that Sterling got an astronomical figure
Even sharing a market, Los Angeles is worth a lot more than Milwaukee. Very simplistically, the Los Angeles MSA has 13.3 million people. Milwaukee has 1.6 million people. LA is a major commercial hub while Milwaukee is, well, not. If a third franchise license was sold for LA, it would probably also be worth more than the Milwaukee Bucks.
This is the one topic I regret not being around when it was current This was my issue when the force out was announced Three max players can buy a team. And nothing like that ever gets suggested. These guys are making outlandish they should buy the league
Players are protesting a guy paying them enough to buy the team Do not relate Don't care what happened between him and that chic
You really need to stop and just re-learn Finance 101. Nothing you have posted in this thread regarding money is anywhere remotely close to accurate. No, 3 max players do not remotely have the ability to buy a team - not even the Milwaukee Bucks.
Most what? 3 max contracts won't generate anywhere near enough cash to buy a basketball team. Do some basic math.
I also know that there's a reason why billion-dollar-franchises are bought by long-time multi-billionaires as opposed to people who make a few hundred million dollars, pay half of it in taxes, and lenders know have no long-term source of income after their playing careers are over. You asked why no one is talking about 3 max players buying a franchise. It's because it's a ridiculous stupid idea. You can ignore it or not - I don't really care. You apparently have little to no understanding of finance, valuable, lending, or anything else involving business. Given your total lack of interest in educating yourself, I'm done bothering to explain.
Everyone buying franchises is as rich as ballmer Jim Crane just bought the Astros Regardless, the overall point is about race. All we expect of black athletes is nothing. To say its ridiculous for guys with hundred million dollar income to look at a billion dollar asset is ridiculous and illustrates my point
Between the Rockets Addidas and State Farm Harden and Paul make plenty enough to buy a team with outside financing
It doesn't illustrate any point because like Major said, it's more like a 50 million dollar income before you take out even more expenses (state visitor tax per game, agent, real estate, other investments, cars, strip clubs, etc..). If you had 3 players with A-Rod like contracts paid to term (317 x 3), it wouldn't be 951 million total, but more like 475 million in cash spread over a long long time. Tax is real, but at least you can pretend it doesn't exist online. Have you contracted Trump-itis and developed posting diarrhea of 140 words or less?
Jim Crane just bought the Astros Players can get outside financing. It would be purchasing an asset But if you want to continue to belabor the point fine Fine six players. James Harden has 400 million in endorsement and team contracts himself
I just want to make sure I understand you, the reason black athletes don't own pro sports teams is because of race, correct?
No not at all However its another example of Black's not thinking of empowering ourselves Edit: Race not racism
It's an old article, but interesting: http://thefieldsofgreen.com/2014/11...valuation-los-angeles-clippers-steve-ballmer/ They say the league increased the league's debt limit in 2014 in anticipation of the coming big cable contract. Being able to borrow more puts upward pressure on the valuation of teams.
