At the very most, the Astros should keep him for mop-up duty during regular season blowouts. But he has no place on the playoff roster.
Looks like that is why Fisher was just called up. It's unfortunate to see George hit a bump but at the same time it's nice to see Fisher back with the Big Club.
MLB best +178 Rdiff (LA 176) 36-12 on the road. Their road record is better than any other teams HOME record except the Dodgers. Astros .750 Dodgers .763 Twelve game lead over Boston for best in AL.
Altuve is a damn machine. I haven't seen a player make baseball look so easy since Bonds. Clearly the MVP of the American League imo.
Aoki is nothing if not consistent. It's crazy how stable his career numbers are. Basically all players have year to year deviations for no real reason, but his numbers have grouped very closely every year save for a slightly high power number his rookie season. He's basically a few walks from being right back on those exact same numbers this year.
It's really crazy. Hopefully his current form is what shows up in the playoffs. Also, hopefully he doesn't play that much in the playoffs.
This might be an indication of where they're leaning when Keuchel is back this weekend..... and just what I want. Peacock bullpen demigod!
They also have an off day Thursday, so who knows what they'll do? I like that they have options...options all over the roster.
I hope Morton just stands with the bat on his shoulder tonight. No need to risk injury trying to run to first. He could be a key bullpen cog come playoff time.
