We are both on the same wavelength man. Those are the unis I like most, in that exact order. Love the checkered pattern on gray. Just screams rocket to me.
You can't force something to become classic just by keeping it around for a long time. The current logo isn't very good. I don't think the championship one is all that wonderful either. However, I wouldn't mind the current logo if the uniform design wasn't so trashy. Scrap everything and get it right so hopefully we can keep it around for a century. The Astros absolutely crushed it with their logo and uniforms. Took the classic logo and updated it, brought the old colors back and incorporated them into a new set of unis that can all last a lifetime. The Rockets could easily do the same thing, updated classic logo and classic colors in a refreshed jersey. Fans have already done most of the work for them.
I don't care if any fashionistas dislike the ketchup and mustard color scheme it's a part of the this towns history and has infinitely more character than the white/silver/red ones with a big bloody R. Even the pinstripe pajama era. Take away the pinstripes and take the face off the rocket...those colors and logo can be salvaged as an alternate.
Seems like a good place to put these...been working on some new Rox uni's. Tweaked my original new logo. Hopefully will have Home, Away and two alts done over the week. Here's a glimpse of the home. (Note it's not quite ready and still needs a few tweaks here and there).
that block of red at the bottom just looks really bad, maybe that's something you wear at a local rec league but definitely not at the professional basketball level
Man my teammate on my rec league suggested something like this for our team. He got upset that I never wore my jersey.
