Oh I remember. I was happy as hell when he was traded to New Orleans. It's exactly like you said, he kept trying to do too much and was terrible in the process. I never wanted to see him in rockets red again. I was cautiously optimistic when we signed him again after seeing him play in Washington and he's been one of the most reliable role players ever since. I just thought it was funny how his career and value here did a total 180.
Ariza guards the Lebrons, K. Leonards, and Paul George's of the league. You apparently don't watch any of the games and what this guy does.
Yes, he 'guards' those guys but how well? Don't suddenly act like Arzia is this great defensive player, when in the past two to three years fans have been constantly complaining about his defense being mediocre at best.
I sincerely hope this is BS, unless there is something more coming with Melo that would give us some other advantage. Trevor's attitude and work ethic is something I would love to keep on this team.
I am not sure why people are so enamored with Ariza. His defense has declined and he is still an erratic 3 point shooter. He will make a bunch one game for a win but will miss all the next and be a big reason we lose the next. You can't expect Ariza to be consistent throughout the series. Besides, Ryan Anderson's game and contract is ****. If losing Ariza is what it takes to get rid of that abomination, then so be it. And as a bonus if we get Melo on top, then I will accept that cherry.
I'd be fine with this if it was true, but it doesn't pass the smell test given his relationship with CP3.
With Luc, Tucker and Troy I can totally stomach the loss of Ariza. They are just as good as Ariza defensively, if not better. My guess is Morey is gonna absorb a bad contract from the Knicks/the third team. Ariza is involved to make the salaries work.
I think that poster was just pointing out the irony in the fact that his value is exponentially greater as an "old" player on this team than it was in his youth, though we know the reason why. You seem to get worked up into frustrated condescension very easily.
I'm in the minority. I want Ariza to stay. But if he must go to allow the Rockets to dump Ryno for Melo, it's still a great deal for them.
If Portland is the really the 3rd team, I would not be surprised to see Morey taking on Meyers Leoanrd's contract.
If we are losing Ariza then we should be getting a PF back along with Melo who would start at the three spot replacing Trevor. Paul Harden Melo ? Capela
have you seen whats been posted here this summer? People still dont understand why we did what we did. People are being just willfully ignorant
not the point. We need both so we can be a versatile defensive team vs golden state. We need depth. Neither should be forced to play 35 minutes a night. Tucker was signed for depth and scheme purposes. Not to replace ariza.
