I don't expect him to opt in, aside the fact that basically anyone opts out as today, he might get less money x year with his next contract, but he will be able to choose where to play and get stability one year earlier...but even if he would opt in that's still a 2 year deal, which is better than a 3 year deal, and cheaper by few millions. They would've to find a third anyway though, cause the Knicks have Noah. Agreed. Also, who says Adams contract is worse than Anderson is simply out of his mind or just being a homer. Do you really think there wouldn't be teams willing to trade at least a 2nd rounder to get Adams today? Be real plz...saying he's a worse contract than Anderson is absolutely ridiculous.
Adams will be the 19th highest paid player in the NBA next year. Paid more than Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, John Wall, and Paul George. Great value for that 8 pt, 7 reb performance he put up in the playoffs.
Exactly. Melo has given no indication he would accept a move to anywhere but Houston or Cleveland. Melo isn't looking to go join just any "super team" . He wants to join a super team with his friends. Which I am cool with.
He wouldn't have signed here for the MLE and he wouldn't sign here next year for just the MLE either.
Literally just said overpaid if you read the entire post. Plus, the rockets make most bigs "obsolete" with their run and gun style.
What does "officially circling" even mean? Is he implying that Melo has expanded his list or just has some interest in OKC?
GREG SWAIM SHOW @GSwaim Never been a fan of Carmelo Anthony, and would hate to see #OKCThunder get him, unless they somehow get rid of Singler in the process!! 9:18 AM - 24 Jul 2017
No I don't because no so called insider so far has even mentioned OKC. This is typical Simmons usual bullshit
Tom WesterholmVerified account @Tom_NBA Carmelo Anthony and the Thunder are reportedly “circling." http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2017/07/carmelo_anthony_trade_rumors_2_3.html …
Rockets would dump Ryan Anderson in a second if Carmelo was a free agent and said he only wanted to come here. The only thing holding it up now is the Knicks are taking their time
Wenger In @BasedChasen Every summer there's rumors of Carmelo leaving to go join a super team and then when the NBA season starts he's still in a Knick uniform 9:32 AM - 24 Jul 2017
I dont think anyone actually needs to say this. If Morey was willing to giving up CC and/or Gordon, i'm pretty sure the trade would have been done already. At this point, IMO, CC and Gordon are necessary for this team to be successful even if it means no Melo - that's my opinion tho.
Hell, you just might get it. Burt "Nostradamus" Steele ("Tuesday 5:45 pm!!!") notwithstanding (btw, did Burt say which Tuesday?), this crap could drag on for months. More like Morey and "Have-to-Prove-Himself-New-GM-in-NYC" circling each other. I credit the latter for not allowing the former to abuse him, but at some point something or someone will have to bend or break.
