New York is being petty, just let the man go and accept what is being given to you instead of keeping him and then getting nothing....

It's not a normal trade scenario.... Melo wants Houston.... Let the man go...

CMA needs not to be bought out nor opt out; he needs to maintain Birds to keep earning big big bucks WHERE HE WANTS TO!!!

Are folks still debating whether or not melo to Cleveland is a real possibility? Until we get a definitive source that says melo will not waive his no trade clause you're fooling yourself. The fact that we haven't heard from a reputable source that he has eliminated Cleveland from contention or that lebron isn't focused on bringing him in should tell you all you need to know.

Until we hear one of those two things we should at the very least be a little concerned.

Yes because if the banana boat is all here we have a good chance of keeping them, and Harden will never bring us a championship. He's the same age as the Warriors stars so his prime is going to be wasted trying to beat the gauntlet.

My ideal scenario is to trade Harden to Celtics for multiple draft picks and rebuild. Warriors are the greatest most efficient offense we have ever seen. Don't see any team we put together around Harden beating them ever.

What I meant by old is older than Harden. I still think he will be good but his window will last about as long as Lebrons. It's a better fit and Harden age is a better pairing with Kyrie.

He can't have a bigger role as long as love is there. You can't play bron, melo, or love at the 5. Someone is going to be sitting

You're probably right. I guess we could include a 2022 1st rdr to get it done.

Lol thats a lie, last year at well beyond tbe mid point of the season, harden was leading the rockets to the grestest offense ever according to basketball reference. We didnt lose our spot till harden injured his wrist

    The warriors aint nothing.

A future 1st and a couple of 2nd rounders could get it done i guess, even though i'm not sure Morey is looking to something similar...especially if the third teams is going to ask for the 1st rounder being unprotected, which is very possible...Phoenix got an unprotected 1st in 2020 (or 2021, can't remember exactly now) from Miami alongisde with their 2016 1st rounder in the Dragic trade.

So you're saying money's philosophy of acquiring as much talent as possible and figuring it out later won't work? Bc you realize 80% of people outside of houston are saying the exact same thing in regards to our two ball dominant guards, right? And it's not like the defending NBA champs don't routinely run a lineup w a 6'7" green playing center. And why does everyone totally ignore the fact that they could simply turn around and ship off love for someone else. It's like y'all think the rockets are the only ones capable of making savvy moves.

Stop performing all these rockets-biased mental gymnastics thinking you have any freakin clue what Cleveland is thinking or what they want to do.

Props to melo.Morey will play hardball now. Our offer is Ryno and 7 million dollars worth of NGC .Knicks only other alternatives are a malcontent Melo or a buyout. If they buy him out and we keep Ryno our offense will be downright frightening

Harsh, I will never root for anyone other than the Rockets, but I am a realistic fan. 73 win team added Kevin Durant... For us to beat that at a minimum we need to start with Lebron.

lol pretty sure they will tell Melo to stay home and let him expire and enjoy the cap space then take back Anderson.

Melo can still opt in for another year. The Knicks are screwed. They have to trade him.

Yup, not to mention that they'd kiss ever signing another top tier FA goodbye by holding Melo hostage in that manner. In a star driven league, treating star players like that is suicide.

This doesn't really make sense because they can save money now and even buyout Anderson for less than buying out Melo if it came down to it.
