    a nobody who's following count is higher than his follower count...disregard until somebody with some credibility says something[/QUOTE]

    Kyle Cohen is obviously from Brooklyn and thus credible!

    Welcome back, Jeremy!

    Melo & Lebron play the same position with Kevin Love. That would be one giant clusterfuc & fastly sinking ship to nowhere. No way Melo goes to Cleveland just to say he played with Lebron

    You would trade Harden for 1 year of CP3/Melo/Lebron lose to Golden State in the Conf Finals in 5 or 6 and be irrelevant for the next 5 years ?

    @The Cat

    What the the chances that Melo opts in to the final year of his contract? It's a lot of money to turn down at his age. If he does choose to opt in, wouldn't that help our chances? I doubt he wants to opt in if LeBron and Kyrie are gone next year.

    I thought about this too. It would improve his leverage for sure.

    Just my two cents here, but if Melo opts out you can have him, CP, Wade and Bron all expiring and able to sign for cheap, if he opts in there's basically no chance a banana boat thing can happen here, but i'd say anywhere.

    If Melo opts out we still have his bird rights, correct?

    If so, Paul and Melo can resign at discount rates and we would have to do a sign and trade with LeBron for Gordon and Tucker, then Wade would have to take the minimum or something.

    I think so, but if the Cavs wouldn't be willing to do a sign & trade (which is very possible imo) we would be forced to go under the cap to sign Lebron anyway so, bird rights for Melo wouldn't mean much, they would've to take a big time paycut to make it happen anyway.

    The Nets wouldn't be a bad partner in a 3-way. They could send Lin and Booker to NYK, with our Long, Quarterman and Taylor group, plus a Hou 2020 1st. We could send Ryan and Onauku to Nets along with a 2nd. That gives Brooklyn a starting PF who can help them spread the floor and a backup young C to develop. NYK get Lin to tutor young PG and bring some excitement to floor, plus a solid PF on a one year deal and some expirings to clear up some room and a 1st rounder. We get Melo to create a Super Team. It may take another 2nd to Nets or some other sweetener, but what the heck its better than having a disgruntled star bringing down the rest of your team.

    Nets got a 1st and a 2nd for taking on Carroll on a 30M x2 deal. You won't be able to dump Anderson on a 60M x3 deal with a couple of 2nd rounders.
