But they're looking to win now to keep LeBron happy and Melo is an established star that can contribute immediately. DeAaron Fox may be a good player someday, but the cavs are certainly not gonna win with him.

As many, including myself, have already mentioned, Melo doesn't really fit on the Cavs alongside Lebron and Love....and if you add Melo and lose Kyrie, you made that team worse.

Lebron has a history of not wanting to toil away on scrub teams and you'd be creating a scrub team for him to toil away on.

hell no, kyrie and love isn't enough for our team to win.

Also Cavs can still keep Kyrie, just cause he asked for trade doesn't mean jack sh*t. He still has 2 more years under contract and they could use Lebron as a trading chip for a SNT to get better assets to revolve around Kyrie if that's what he wants

I'm not sure, Melo isn't that Carmelo anymore.

The Rockets want him to replace Ryno, that's it. The Cavs wanted him but didn't want to give up Love for him.

I doubt they think he's going to keep Lebron around. I mean, Lebron left his best friends in Miami for another chance at winning, what makes you think one year with a 33-year-old player on the decline is going to help?

C'mon, I do think Kyrie is a little bit overrated in terms of how we treat him (as a borderline Superstar), but he's still a top 20 player

I don't know that they can get much better because teams with superstars aren't lining up to get rid of em so they gonna only get what they can get at this point...... all big trades have been made for stars at this point........ all money has been given out.......... all they can really get is trash and scraps from anybody at this point....... they not getting no major haul for him this late in the game........ had Kyrie told them this at the start of free agency then they were in business ...... at this point everybody has crap left

The Cavs are a team that has a chance at the NBA Finals, even exchanging Kyrie for Melo. The East is really weak.

Not to mention, if Melo went to Cleveland, he would be the second option, rather than the 3rd, which he would be in Houston.

The only reason I could see Melo pick Houston over the Cavs is because Houston would provide more long term stability.

No team with LBJ is scrub. However, KI is all proof I need that Lebron is a Laker. Maybe even sooner???

What planet am I living on? Serious question. What in gods name makes you think they couldn't then trade love?

We just saw paul george traded for trash. Yet somehow kyrie for melo isn't even a plausible scenario.

    Y'all are awesome.

Melo reminds me of Pierce. His game will age well. Particularly as #3 here.

CP3 is not a prolific scorer, so in terms of scoring Melo would be a 2nd option here in Houston as well.

Also, I don't think LeBron would be too happy with swapping Kyrie for Melo, which only increases his chances of leaving. If Melo is smart, he should be aware of that risk.

Yes but why Cleveland would get a bad return with Melo, a 33 yr old player for a 25 yr old player. Depending what other piece they can get for him, like picks or a young player. Who knows at this point what's going to happen. Melo might still come to Houston but it's definitely going to take even longer while NYK try to do their due diligence on the best deal for them. I had wanted Morey to just throw in another asset while his value was super low, now with another legit player, his value just increased which sucks for us

You are too upset over a very subjective subject. It's going to be ok.

Maybe you are right. Won't be the first, won't be the last.

Maybe I'm right. Won't be the first, won't be the last.

It will all unfold as it's going to regardless. Harmless speculation is the point of a bbs.

Will also concede that kyrie available makes the Cavs a 'potential' destination. Just don't think much of the potential
