Hard to believe of all the guys on the Cavs, it's Kyrie that wants out. I would have bet major money on Kevin Love asking for a trade.

Cavs have no obligation to trade Kyrie anywhere he wants...dont get me wrong the guy is super talented and hit the biggest shot in franchise history but it was LeBron who took them there and back. I mean Kyrie had a huge task in being the guy in Cleveland after LeBron, but they won 21,24 and 33 games in his first 3 seasons without LeBron. The guy was only elevated to 'elite' PG status in the league after LeBron came back. I am not saying he is a winner, but right now he hasnt shown the ability to lead a time IMO. He only made the playoffs the 3 season with LeBron and this is in the east. He missed the playoffs in year 3 by 5 games in the east - thats a lot.

That being said Cleveland MUST take the best deal back for them. The chances LeBron stays after this is very small so they need to figure out a way to do a few things:
    1) win while LeBron is still there
    2) get something in return that will set them up for the team post LeBron
    3) get rid of some of the bad contracts they have that has shot them in luxury tax hell

Now the above doesnt need to be in that order of course it really depends on what Dan Gilbert wants, my guess its more of #3 and some of #2 rather than #1.

So of the supposed 'teams' on that list - goes back to what does the team owe Kyrie? Not much IMO, he on his own hasn't really done much to raise the profile of the team. If anything Kyrie owes LeBron for that exposure he has now compared to what it was before.

As for New York - If you're Melo I think you were trying to get to Cleveland to play with both Lebron and Kyrie (maybe not so much Love though) With Kyrie gone who is their primary point guard? Deron Williams? LeBron is going to wear himself further down being the primary ball handler all game. Melo has never been the primary ball handler either his career. Having a guy help set him up is where Melo's strengths lie. He has two of those in Houston and now only one in Cleveland (LeBron). New York would love Kyrie but I think at this point Melo may say no to the trade now. Heck I wouldnt put it past LeBron to tell Melo to not come there especially if he is on his way out at some point this off season or next. No way the knicks trade Porzingis either, he has way too much value for the knicks right now.

Ideally I would imagine (or hope) the Cavs may try to send Kyrie out west to 'avoid' having to keep seeing him so much, but I would believe at this point the Cavs may want the best deal possible regardless of teams.

If I had to take a stab at a potential trade I would look at this:

    Cavs trade: Kyrie, JR Smith
Orlando trades: Nikola V, Terrence Ross, Elfrid Payton, 2018 ORL 1st rnd pick, 2019 2nd Rnd Pick (from Brooklyn or Orlando whichever is better), 2020 1st round pick (via OKC)

Cavs save money (I am not sure exactly how much with the luxury taxes factored in) in this trade and get an serviceable PG in payton back. Ross and Vuc are capable rotation players that can help offset the loss of JR smith. Vuc can provide them some more bulk up front off the bench when Tristan sat in the past. Also gives them enough decent picks to help them build post LeBron while still being able to drop their cap figure when LeBron leaves.

For Orlando - they've been sort of out in ocean in a boat with no paddle. I have no idea what they are trying to do but at least now they are able to pair Irving up with some guys like Gordon, Fournier, Henzoja(Sp?). At least having a star PG gives them some ways to help rebuild in the right direction at least.

Cavs will be getting Eric Bledsoe as their PG as part of the Melo, with Ntilikina going to Phoenix.

There are two things to worry about:

    a) Is Melo still coming?
    b) Is Irving going to the Spurs?

Because either scenario (probably) knocks the Rockets down a notch.

If the Cavs wanted Melo they could have traded Love for him ages ago. They could have traded for him at any point this summer, before we were even close. But now they're going to trade Kyrie for him? Ask yourself how that makes sense.

With Irving gone, Melo might be enough to convince Bron to stay. Add in Eric Bledsoe and that team is a lock for the NBA Finals.

You sound like an insider lol........ all we know Is what we know from reports only at this point....... which is he wants Cleveland or Houston........ we don't know that the CAVS are a team he won't waive it for as you stated....... how can we know that when all we heard is he will waive it for Cleveland ? And we don't know that porzingus has to be in the conversation like you stated either....... if that's the case then Ego and Capela have to be in the conversation too the knicks as well

Thank you. Shut all the bullshit reports out until we hear otherwise from Melo's camp.

How does kyrie demanding a trade not refute what you just said? Kyrie is forcing their hand. I'm not saying this is a done deal but I'm having a a hard time understanding how the only other team Carmelo was willing to waive his NTC for all of a sudden having a huge trading chip doesn't increase their chances of trading for him.

I've seen a lot of Knicks fans say Isola doesn't know anything.
