Ideal for us. But any reason for NY to do it, other than ONLY crappy offers.

The Rockets really need Anthony before the season starts so he can practice and play with the Rockets players and go through training camp. He is going to be asked to do something vastly different in Houston than in NY. Also the more time D'Antoni gets to design his offense and Morey gets to add complementary pieces the better.

Matching up against GS isn't just about slapping 3-4 stars out on the table and walking away. It will take very good chemistry to compete against them. GS is actually better than the sum of the parts. The Rockets need something similar.

Well there is no reason but then again if it's cavs and rockets only and Melo wants out what Choice do you have. So it's either maybe get some young blood [that are average and contracts might not be ideal] or buy him out and have free cap space to do as they please this year and the next

If he signs with us after a buyout, are we really in a great spot next year? We don't have his bird rights, and we're over the cap.

Wed have Rynos contract and egos to move if need be. Plus smaller contracts like tucker mbah and others . Plus Ariza coming off the books. And I'm sure cp would take a little less to get his buddies.

The ball will #soon be imminently placed on the 2 yard line, but it is a fluid situation so maybe not.

All Melo has to do is show up for more than 41 games out of the season to be better than Ryno.

He doesn't get superstar calls bc well, he's not a star. We need that going against GS and Cleveland

LOL. Had to laugh. Been thinking about this too. Rain and drain. Rain and drain.

One of the things that struck me first is how our shot selection would be expected to change. Just a couple points on that.

Ariza is basically a 40%er in the corners and a 32%er around the arc. He took over 300 shots around the arc with only a little over half that in the corners. With Paul integrated and with him and Harden playing their game up top (a sight to see in itself) I fully expect that the overwhelming majority of Ariza's shots will now come from the corners, making him even more efficient.

Secondly, Harden himself is a 40% three-point shooter on catch-and-shoot threes while being simply awful on a ton of pull-up threes. With him and Paul out there playing their own circus with the ball we'll be able to eliminate a slew of those nasty pull-up jumpers and increase Harden's number of catch-and-shoot looks. That'll help. Not to mention Paul himself should have more catch-and-shoot opportunities than pull-up looks.

Then here's the next level. With the addition of Luc and Tucker (and hopefully Melo) we're going to be able to put these guys on the floor together and have a true 5 out line-up. And that's the killer. Because Luc, Tucker, Ariza, and Melo are all going to be able to defend the 5-spot for a few minutes effectively while we switch everything. And on the offensive end you've got Harden/Paul/Anthony continuously setting the pick-and-pop for each other out there leaving the lane wide open for the handler or leaving an excellent carch-and-shoot shooter free around the arc who each have the ability to put the ball on the floor and create if they are covered tight on the catch. Not to mention consistently having 40% shooters in the corners.

Our death ball line-up matching up with the Warriors is going to be something to see.

    1. I'm sure I can find a video of Melo doing more, even last season.
    2. Do you have any highlight game videos with ROCKETS written across the baseline?

Your death ball line up is Paul/Harden/Ariza/Tucker/Melo?

it seems he suggested that. I don´t think you can go with that line up without a tradional big men or someone who can fill some of the needs (rebounding, rim protection). I don´t see that.

I tought that we had a pretty good death line up, with Ryno at the 5. But once he got injured some minutes after playing 5, and other time we got outscored.

Who is playing that role in a a Tucker/Melo frontcourt. Even worse, you have 2 very bad defenders at stopping penetration (melo/harden). Don´t really like your idea.
