Basically if we trade for Melo that's our roster barring trading a core piece out during the season.

Let's not forget, Wiggins and Towns are still getting better, and now they have Jimmy...I love CP3 and our current team, but we need Melo as he fits perfect with this team!!!

lowe said morey may not really want melo but has to at least show that's he trying to obtain him to appease cp3. think before you post.

actually it would be all those guys.....plus ryan anderson.......who he apparently coveted for years

look i like melo, and hate anderson the player as a starter. but i also didn't sign anderson to $80M and morey did, so it's not that outrageous to question his intents. maybe he thinks melo would disrupt chemistry for instance..

3 players that can't really shoot beyond 10 feet. I think we'll be fine with Anderson.

Then why are the Rockets pursuing so aggressively. If we had a couple of actual sweetners to throw in, I bet this deal would have been done already.

i honestly don't know what to believe about what we've offered and how aggressive we've been. lots of false info being spread the past few weeks. i mean we heard about meyers leonard needing a home for quite a while and then it's reported POR would never want to help us get better by facilliating melo to HOU. so nothing is certain from top to bottom in this whole mess.

If you filter out all the fake news, a few reputable guys, including Woj, have been saying that deal is going to get done one way or another. The fact is Melo wants out and the only two teams he has ever been interested in is Cleveland and Houston. Everyone else has been off the table.

I believe Houston has been pursuing aggressively.

Eerily quiet since Tuesday, which is probably a good thing.

all parties may want/need to get the deal done, but if there's no final taker for the sh!tbag getting passed down the ryno contract exchange then i don't see how this gets resolved. i really doubt morey lets either of gordon/capela/ariza go. i'm not even sure he'd let llull's rights go. and selling off future 1st rounders doesn't look good to prospective Houston Rockets buyers. would joe chee be enough? probably not

I think so. Yesterday was all regurgitation from Tuesday's update and nothing today yet.

Seems like Morey made his offers and that's it. The pressure will be on Knicks the closer the season comes. Once they become desperate Morey will add a dash of seasoning to the deal (maybe 2nd round pick) and seal it up. In the last couple of weeks, I'm sure they know all the teams that can possibly take Anderson/Leonard and the majority of what it will take to get it done. With that said, the not knowing for sure is killing me

From what people have been saying, Ariza leaving in a package seems like a no go. But would people be willing to see him go if it opens up a bit of money for us to go after Jamychal Green?? That way Melo starts at the 3..

Rynos contract, plus Arizas plus the NGs give us around 34M right?
Melos contract is just over 26M.

Would and offer of 8M be enough at this point to get Green?

Honestly I keep thinking it may not happen until Zhou Qi becomes eligible to be traded.

Houston pursues aggressively, but smartly. We will not give up anything of value for Carmelo.

The thing with Morey is he assigns value to players and is very cognizant of how it affects future cap space.

Melo has his assigned value, and that's it.

I see a lot of Knicks fans think they are going to pressure Morey into "ponying up", they just don't understand how he works.
