I hate how media has jumped all over Portland wanting melo. Like it shouldn't even be talked about until he opens his NTC to other teams but that's how badly they want him to go anywhere but Houston. Side note, I don't think it's happening because 1. Neither team will just give in, I'm sure all other team avenues have been explored and no one wants to help. 2. We never hear about our trades beforehand this is too much attention, Cavs probably slip in and take it. I just wish I hadn't gotten so on board with it.

There is little else going on in free agency. So of course the media is going to talk about every angle in the Melo drama. Portland may or may not have a real shot, but it's gonna get talked about because there is nothing better to do with the time. Having a possible new player in the drama is interesting. There's only so much LeBron speculation and Lonzo praising to fill the airtime. My guess: Melo ain't moving all the way to Portland to play with some young dudes. Rockets have a shot not just because they have good talent, but because they have Melo's long-time friend Chris Paul. Lillard and CJ ain't gonna photoshop their faces onto the banana boat.
Adding melo for Anderson and picks needs to take place. We'll have the only team period who can challenge and potentially beat the warriors. Cp3/Gordon Harden/Gordon Ariza/Tucker/luc Melo/Tucker/luc Capela/nene/black Rockets will be 10 deep and have the strongest Rotation in the league outside of the Warriors and it's closer than many think imo.
Seeing that on paper gives me the feels. I keep forgetting about the PJ/Black/Mbah signings, all of which are really solid deals.
I think we would probably do Anderson, Onuaku, Long, Quarterman, 2020 1st and 2019 2nd. Maybe throw in a Taylor or another 2nd, but not much more. NYK has enough centers they could deal one for a vet PG. Anderson and Porzingis give them a stretch 4 and 5, that could really open things up and make them more exciting with TH Jr. Let's do this already, we need to start fifty Lebron and Wade are coming threads next.
Very solid deals. You need a goon like tucker on any Contender. He will fight yell scream and hit draymond green. HE will get under skin and force him to do stupid stuff. Plus he can gaurd the 2-4 at a very very high level. Luc is just solid and long on defense he can give KD some problems in spurts. To me he's like and Ariza defender and having that type of player on the court between the two for 48 min is a major Luxury. This is by far MDA best defensive team he's ever had and the most talent he's every coached Imo. If we add melo I'm worried MDA might have a heart attach out of excitement because of all the different plays he can run and things he can do. I will say this I'm sure coach bizdelick is very happy with the additions of cp3, Tucker, luc and black. He's got some legit rough riders who are just dogs on that end of the court.
The conference, simpler regular season, much easier path, much better chance to "get lucky" because of it

I don't even count Lou Will. Rockets were firmly in the three seed before he got here. Our win percentage was actually better before we got him and he didn't do anything in the playoffs. Lou was better than brewer but from a wins standpoint Beverly was really the only significant loss. And he was replaced by cp so......
