And soon you will find out he is coming to Houston. Go back to the Knicks forum where you are needed to counsel the masses.
I can't believe selfish Lala won't uproot her life to follow the dude who made a baby outside of their marriage. Sad!
Warriors We got to credit the Force (CP3 & Beard) too. They persuaded Melo to turn to the right side, away from the dark side. Melo controls his own destiny with the trade clause which made Morey's job easier. All Melo had to do was to not pay attention to Emperor Mills' plan this will be done. The power of the force will continue despite losing Yoda (Les).
You had him for years and sank his career down to where it is now which is why we likely will get Anthony on this team. You could learn a thing or two from the world around you.
I think we all need to be extremely patient. We're trying to turn garbage into gold: essentially trading Anderson for Melo straight up, without giving up sweeteners like picks or young prospects. That's so lopsided. Despite Melo's trade demands and leverage with the NTC, it doesn't make sense for NY to take Anderson's contract nor should we expect other teams to help us facilitate the deal. It wouldn't surprise me if the situation ended in a buyout and we have to convince Melo to sign with us instead of Cleveland.
I've done probably too much thinking about this and I've come to the conclusion that I think the way this deal has to get done is Eric Gordon going to a 4th team. And IMO its probably better that giving up your 2020 pick, plus pick swaps, and potentially Capela who has more value long term. Something like: - Melo to Hou -Nicholson, Brandon Knight to the Knicks -Ryno, Onuako to the Nets -EG to the Suns You can come up with a large number of teams to be that 4th team to facilitate, but I just think the way you do this deal to make sense for everyone has to be to throw EG in the deal. If Melo, CP3, and Harden are all healthy, I think you have more than enough scoring there to keep the scoreboard moving for 48 minutes. I don't see much more usage for EG than a catch and shoot guy. Losing Anderson and EG as shooters will hurt, but if getting Melo really is "the key to a championship" moving EG has to be the next step if they want to be serious about facilitating this trade.
If you look at what Paul George netted Indiana, it's easy to believe Anderson to a third team would be enough for Knicks. They want to get rid of Anthony as much as we want to get rid of Anderson. Morey has to find a third team that will send picks and/or expirings to Knicks. I know it won't be easy, but bad teams can find a reason to take on Anderson's contract. If not today or tomorrow, month or two from now is also reasonable.
I don't think the Rockets have to do that. The Knicks will blink first. I don't see the Rockets moving any players other than Anderson in a Melo deal. At most I see them moving the 2020 1st rounder (protected). But I still think it will just be Anderson to a 3rd team.
Could not disagree more. The Rockets just don't have enough to trade, and when you look at what is more expendable on our roster & assets, its clear he's almost certainly got to go in order to move teams forward. I'm not saying he was in the original Knicks deal, but its obvious to me that if the Rockets keep the existing deal in place they aren't getting Melo. He's a buyout candidate in that case, and might go to Cleveland. Even if he does go to Houston he's still only a one year rental. If the Rockets are serious about Melo, I see that as their next avenue to get it done.
"He's so loyal, sometimes he is loyal to a fault" - LaLa talking about Melo He has shifted his loyalty to CP3 and the Rockets. It is going to happen. Not will, but when. Nothing new to see here, move along.
For whatever reason when Perry stepped in he was quick to put his foot down with a significant disagreement about the Melo trade. If he felt that strongly about it, I just don't see it as a stalling tactic, and have to think that they have a fundamental disagreement about the trade being good for the Knicks. I just see a team that said a deal with the Rockets with what they have to offer isn't good for us. We gotta put something like EG in the deal IMO or they are just going to play chicken with Melo hoping he expands his teams, or comes with a team friendly buyout. Might be. Any stat geeks want to weigh that for us?
