Read my posts again, I'm not basing this on one game. A healthy Spurs team gave them serious trouble and had a 20pt away lead, there were other close games as well.

We now even added CP3, are on the verge of signing Melo, signed great fits like Tucker, Black and Luc, gave up absolutely no player of need in the process, yet people are still acting like GSW is far from reach and would dominate us.
It just doesn't make sense basketball-wise.

This doesn't relate and everyone could see how much trouble San Antonio gave GSW in that game. Yea, games can fluctuate a lot in a series, but to act like GSW would've swept SA or won easily is nonsense.

They lost one (questionable) game in the playoffs to a Cleveland team with 3 stars. Other than that, despite Cleveland having one of the best offensive outputs in playoff history, they whipped them.

Yes, in ONE game for THREE quarters they were down 20 against the Spurs. This of course came after they swept their way through the first two rounds and sat on the sidelines waiting for the Spurs. Could the Spurs have won that game? Sure, maybe. Or maybe the Warriors were just lazy and would have stomped their guts out anyway.

Nobody threatened the Warriors at all last season, including in the playoffs. They have the best offense of all time and a great defense. They kept their entire team in tact essentially and added good shooters to take the crap minutes. They will have a better offense than every team they play for all 48 minutes of every game they play next season. They are an absolute monster and unlike the Lakers team referenced in this thread, these guys are all in their prime still.

You can't overrate how great they are. They are GREAT. They have four players who will be in the Hall of Fame on that team and they are in their prime together. And they all believe in each other and play unselfish basketball with a commitment to defense. It's a dream team.

That said, can they be beaten? Of course they can. Will they be overwhelming favorites against us even with Carmelo? Yes. It's just the reality. That doesn't mean you don't take your best show and it doesn't mean you CAN'T win, it just means you don't need to waste time downplaying how good they are. They may be able to beat us 99 out of 100 times, but all we need is one time. We just need a little intimidation:

Why doesn't it relate? For all we know they still win game one. They had regular season game in San Antonio this year when the Spurs were up 20 at halftime and lost by 10. Warriors are too explosive. I don't think the Spurs realistically had a shot at winning that series.

Really think you're not understanding my sentiments, I never said they weren't great, deserving champs or one of the all-time great teams.

My point is about them having looked vulnerable here and there. We have a team that lost no key player, features a possible CP3, Harden, Melo trio accompanied by great role players like Ariza, Tucker, Gordon, Luc, Capela, Nene. Saying they'd win 99/100 times is incredible overreacting, people are acting like GSW has a full roster of invincible demi-gods that trashed every team with a 30pt margin in the last years.

Seriously, how can anyone think that a CP3-Harden-Ariza-Melo-Capela five supported by Gordon, Tucker, Nene, Luc etc has absolutely no chance of winning? This doesn't make sense.

Point is Spurs were extremely competitive with Kawhi and played outstanding on both ends and in prior rounds. I replied to someone saying GSW breezed through the playoffs and had no competition, which in my humble opinion is only true because of Kawhi's injury. Spurs matched up extremely well and were on their A-game these playoffs, it's very difficult to see GSW trashing them in four or five games if Kawhi played.

Man, we absolutely destroyed them two games out of the opening 4. I mean, we destroyed the Spurs. What we did offensively in those two games is what GSW does every game, and with a much better defense to assure the consistency of Wins.

also, I wouldn't look at their regular season matchups....one Spurs win none of the Big 4 played. none of them. And Durant didn't play in the last game when GSW actually won.

Yes, but what does it tell you when the same Spurs team killed GSW for 30minutes with Kawhi on the floor?
People act like GSW is thousand tiers above the rest, even when we have a potential super team with CP3, Harden, Melo and superb role players.

I don't get it, is it because people are underrating CP3 and Melo this brutally? Talent-wise, we have nothing to hide and some of the league's best talent in their respective roles. GSW isn't painfully better than our potential roster, the talent level and fit is even.

I agree. We were even, and surprisingly looked better than the Spurs last year. But they were better closers during the reg season, which led to us chocking away Game 5. We are now much better than the Spurs on paper.

But, Spurs weren't that close to GSW, imo. But we will be very close with Melo. I think you can make that case without resorting to overrating the Spurs last playoffs. LMA was going to disappear in that series, with or without Kashi.

    Nothing groundbreaking but La La:

    Rockets/Melo related portion:
(7:13) Ready to move to Houston?

Ha! I'm not moving anywhere. I'm New York born & bred and I will be staying.

So the whole family will be staying in New York?

I don't know about that. I don't know about those trick questions you try and ask me but I'm staying in New York.

So if Melo moves, you're not moving with him?

We haven't got...We're not at that place right now.

    ...

(15:04) Have y'all gone to see counselors or Tyrese?

We're good & figuring it out. Right now, Melo is figuring out the Knicks & basketball and where the next couple months of his life is gonna be. I want to support him. ... I want him to be happy. New York has not panned out to be what he wanted it to be. He's so loyal sometimes I tell him he's loyal to a fault, like loyal to the end to people who haven't necessarily always been loyal to him.

They were down damn near 30 and Kawhi may as well be Lebron. There I said it, the way he was impacting game 1 was amazing. I think he had like 26 early in the third. Spurs win at least 2 games if he doesn't get injured.

Nobody said that. Kawhi is the #1 guy you would want to guard KD. Ultimately, we don't know how the series unfolds if Leanard doesn't get injured

Final step: Film Ryan Anderson taking hundreds of threes during practice, then cleverly edit them together to make it look like he made an absurd number of them in a row. I've heard in past years that making lots of threes in a row at practice is a huge effing deal, so that should sweeten the pot enough to finish this.

They just "reset" the talks and it hasn't been very long. This will take some time. Hopefully days and not weeks.
