Detroit makes a lot of sense plus Perry has history with that front office, involving any west coast team is going to be difficult

Plus with new ownership who knows if Morey will even be around when the pick is used... Morey needs to stack that resume!

I'm just saying if it's the holdup, I would do it. I like Capela but he's about to get paid, as Morey said we're the team to draft Parsons and not pay Parsons. Who's more valuable to this team right now Melo or Capela? This team with Melo would go farther then without. If we can keep Capela like I said, then obviously hold onto him, but I'm so iffy on paying Capela a hefty contract next year. We got other banana riders to get next year

No way Morey gives up Capela. He'll let this draw out until the trade deadline if he has to.. He always gets his man.

Chris Paul just raved about playing with Capela. He’s safe. Ariza is safe. Gordon is safe. Tucker, Black, Mbah all can’t be traded. We should be good. We will just continue doing what we doing.

More like Half the distance to the goal. Automatic first down.

If it goes to trade deadline, no way Knicks trade him anymore. He's going to opt out and Knicks open up their cap again

Capela isn't stopping us from getting any of the Banana Boat guys so I don't even see why that's a talking point. His cap hold is so tiny. It would be like a little over 4 mil, and we'd have his Bird Rights.

He's only 23 and continues to get better, yet y'all want the Rockets to bend over and bid against themselves by giving him up for Melo. Seriously?

There's a hard cap, can we go over the hard cap to sign him with bird rights?

You're right. Unless they have reason to believe that he will opt in, that is.

Morey will have to figure that stuff out with the hard cap, but Banana Boat guys is not a reason to give up Capela for Melo when Melo has a NTC, the Knicks don't want him, and he has demanded to be traded here. Y'all aren't even naming adequate guys to replace him. I've seen the likes of Bogut, O'Quinn, and McGee mentioned. C'mon now...

Giving up Capela to get melo and Lebron isn't a reason? Anywho I don't know who we can get but that's morey's job if he has to include him in the trade. Morey will know what's best for the team.

Doesn't matter what the hold up is - Ryno or Capela... doesn't matter IMO.

Rockets and Melo are in the driver seat. Melo wants out and wants Houston, NY wants him gone and probably just tried to save face by "talking" him into staying to bring his sell price higher. Rockets can just sit back and stand firm. Why pay a premium for a product that's in low demand?

Morey knows what's best for the team which is why he would be stupid to give up Capela.

If he was willing to give him up, then this deal would've been done weeks ago. He doesn't even want to give up Ariza/Gordon. The Knicks have very little leverage. Morey would never bend over and lose in negotiations to the Knicks by just handing over his best asset.

Push comes to shove, I think the team will wait out the Melo result and hold on to Capela as an asset to acquire a real star-- someone better than 33-year-old Melo.

The end game isn't to just add Melo, it's to beat the Warriors.

Seriously, give up our best young trade asset to bring over a guy who is already pushing to come here and whose team has zero leverage in trade negotiations? We could have Melo and trade Clint for something else should the opportunity arise. Some people are just terrible negotiators.
