Hell yes I want to pay him that. Why not. We will be already be over the cap and he would be our only shot at a 4th Allstar caliber player.
Javale is not a starter, he has proven that throughout his career. He's taller, longer, and more athletic yet still somehow clearly inferior to Capela who only continues to improve. Javale is a bench big that can play 10-15 minutes if he's not doing a bunch of dumb stuff out on the court. Bogut is 1 of the most injury prone players in the NBA, he's not worth losing Capela at all. U don't know if he'll end up getting 20 mil/yr. The market was dry this year, and the cap is barely going up. Not many teams will even have much cap space. The deals given out this summer were a lot more reasonable than last summer. We can also go over the cap to re-sign him if he does end up getting that type of money. Besides, Capela is our best asset not named Harden or CP3. U don't just toss him in for Melo when the Knicks want to get rid of him, he has a NTC, and he only wants to come here.
Trading for Chris Paul was the touchdown. Carmelo is the PAT. Morey is ready to kick it thru the uprights, but the Knicks decided to call a timeout and ice the kicker.
I love all the new York fans responding to melo twitter posts. "They ain't got nothing Knicks want" "he should just pick another team" its BURNING up their insides that they about to get rolled by Morey and know they have nothing but years of misery ahead for them. LOVE IT!!
We all know what this Anderson situation means. It means that we'll get Carmelo, but to unload Anderson we'll have to give up a player we really don't want to give up. And Morey will finesse the situation not by magically finding a couple of first-round picks, but by finding some passable player to replace Gordon/Ariza/Capela. It will hurt.
Someone should let the nix know what an amazing floor spacer they'd be getting in Ryno. How he'd help their young pg blossom by creating so much space for him to operate. Constantly shout 40% if need be. When I say someone I mean someone more convincing than the bozos that tried to shovel that crap around here all year.
Morey already did. His name is Tarik Black. My thoughts: No need for Morey to get pressured into anything. Wait out the Knicks and Melo. Knicks don't want Melo to be there and Melo doesn't want to be there. These things are not changing. Neither is the fact that Chris Paul is friends with Melo. If a trade doesn't work out, I see a buyout rather than Knicks actually forcing an unhappy Melo to stay and play. He ain't gonna get more valuable during the season and they are trying to move on from the Phil Jackson "player abuser" reputation. Let Knicks and Melo figure out their problem. Need to keep our assets to trade for an additional star player.
anyone catch the vid of the pickup game at ucla? kyrie dishing dimes to melo. melo to cleveland confirmed. it's what the league wants. melo is not coming here.
The part where... Knicks: "We will trade you Carmelo Anthony." Rockets: "Okay..." Knicks: "Send us something we want." Rockets: "No"
