Rockets used their exceptions. Only the veteran's minimum.

It's not like Melo can never get a Max deal again. He's not that washed up yet. He just need 1 decent season away from NY.

melo is not getting another max contract at this stage of his career. even if he did, he'd be on a team that has no chance of winning and likely suck and it doesn't look like he's trying to go through any of that again.

he'll still get a good amount but it won't be max

They are going to want assets and nope we still would have needed more. The clippers werent going to take anderson anyway. Wouldnt work. Takes two to tango on a sign and trade. Griffin would also have to want to come to houston and possibly wait forever. We dont have any leverage offloading anderso in that situation.

It would have taken more to get griffin. 10 million more than cp3 deal in a trade. And the trade has to benefit the clippers.

Also there were other reasons. Blake griffin couldnt be signed till july 1st, new league year. We got chris paul in a trade because he opted in to his last year of his contract so we could get him prior to the new league year and go over the cap. Since we went over the cap and matched salaries in the transaction we then had access to the Full MLE which was the only way to get tucker. You people look at whats in front of you and dont understand the big picture at all

Its not the best thing at all. We use next years tax payer MLE on him we will again be hard capped. We already are going to have to pay chris paul. We will have to find a taker for anderson just to make room for that if we plan to use the MLE. There wont be much room at all. You need melos bird rights

[QUOMoute TE="Brown Lost It, post: 11220688, member: 61259"]Even better

    Paul / Gordon
    Harden / Ariza
    Melo / Tucker / Moute
    Bosh / Anderson / Qi
    Capela / NeNe / Black

    Look at that second unit.[/QUOTE]
Moute did not come here to get third unit minutes. He will get at least 20 per game as will Tucker. Neither Bosh or
Anderson need to be on this roster when the season starts. I am not so sure anymore that we need Melo actually, if it gets rid of Anderson then sure, if not he really does not help all that much.

don't really see moute getting that much, especially as high as 20. but it really depends on whether Ryan or Melo is here first.

The year was 2017. Their home team caught in the middle of trying to form a super team, a major announcement from the owner brings shock to the NBA world. As Clutchfans decide which topic to address, trolls flood the forum. Will the forum survive this level of sh!tposting? Will you be there to stand up for your fellow Clutchfan?

Some people thought Moute would get a contract paying between 8-10 million a year. He came here with the help of CP3. If you think he gave up 8-10 million a year to play small minutes you need to think again. 15 minimum, probably 18 or more.

idk about getting that much money. someone signing for min, that isn't likely. but anyways its just tough getting minutes in the 20s on a nightly basis when you're a 9th man or lower off the bench. i mean i hope houston is blowing out teams that'll allow that but yeah we'll see. as long as he is contributing positively is all that matters
