i don't think so. obviously it all depends on who becomes the owner. i feel like les will do us a solid and make sure to sell it to someone he trusts.

morey will be part of the hiring process so it seems he's safe because he has say on yes/no on whether or not they sell to a dude

Good news if it kills the Melo trade. Dude is a Dwight Howard/Latrell Sprewell love child.

Could this affect us in trying to go after Lebron next summer?

What is the NBA policy when it comes to foreign ownership? Or is it not allowed?

too far out to kill that trade. the official sale would likely happen in a year or two with paperwork, legal, etc. the melo drama should end within a few months.

I'm not crazy about this news. Les has been a good owner and you don't know what his replacement will be like. I'm not that worried about a move to Seattle though. Houston is a bigger market size and in reality it all comes down to the Benjamins.

I read that Les has been divorced for a long time now. I thought he was still married. I still see that lady at courtside with him from the beginning when he bought the franchise.

New owner before the season starts? How long has this process took for other teams?

I hope that's not towards the rockets and les.

They gave him A shot and Les gave him 18m gaurentee money.

Cmon bro your better than that.

You were prob making 15k a month in Europe. Les and the rockets changed your life.

You have rolls Royce wraith and a big house dude.

6 years ago you were getting coins thrown at you on the court.

    Very disappointed

Pat Bev would be playing ball in Pelican Bay if it weren't for Mr. Alexander. Ungrateful nga if that was directed at the Rockets.

If you read between the lines here, I think we have to see where this makes complete sense from his perspective to not risk having to leave his baby (the Rockets) not on his terms and having any control of the legacy that gets left with really his most proud accomplishment. He had a real pickle about not having family lined up to take over ownership after he couldn't run the team anymore.

As a Rockets fan I have to feel good about that fact. Despite what he said you know he's thought about this for awhile and him locking Morey up, locking up the deal with Harris county and the TC, locking Harden up, and spending a ton to get CP3 here makes a huge difference in how the Rockets hit the market in a sale.

This isn't going to be a Wall Street group buying a team like the sixers who are buying a distressed asset. The Rockets are at their peak in stability. They are at contender status with multiple superstars. He will have a chance to hand pick who buys the team.

Look...the new owner is the only one who can prove if this is good or bad though. They have to have faith in Morey and be willing to spend money to win. They have to carry the tradition of treating our Stars right.

But from my perspective as a fan, I appreciate the way he is taking the team to market, and I totally understand personally how he'd decide now to go ahead and hand the team off to another good owner.

Also - Pat Bev is Pat Bev.

You love him if he's on your team. You hate him if he's not. He's going to try and get under the Rockets and their fan's skin because he pumps himself up with these shenanigans. Don't take it personal.

Pat was upset because the Rockets didn't want to extend him this Summer, and took the push for CP3 personal. Its understandable that Pat would have wanted an extension, and its understandable that Morey & co. knew that Pat Beverley is great as a junk yard dog, but he's not a player you decide to keep if the other option would be CP3, and as Bev gets older, the best part of his game (defense) will fall dramatically in the next year or two.
