Very very likely reading way too much into that tweet, but if Luhnow trades Whitley for Hand or Robertson he should be fired. Love seeing the Rays scouting Houstons farm. Archer. Edit: of course those teams could be scouting Rogers or Alvarez
I wonder if the White Sox are there because Lunhow is after Kahnle and/or Swarzak Neither of those guys would require parting with Whitley, I'd think.
We have seen what he can do in the AL...not very good. Isn't an upgrade to Morton and Fiers. This is the type of "make a move just to make a move," that I hope we don't make.
I've been told for several months that the bullpen is not in any way overworked, and the starters will all come back healthy. Even though it's already happened with Harris, 2015 October. Hopefully Devenski's arm can handle it, he's never done this kind of load before.
Not too long ago, nobody wanted to add Musgrove to any trade packages, what do you think now? Is he damaged goods as far as the valuation of the other major league teams, or does he still have value as a top prospect/MoR type of guy with still some learning to maybe be ToR guy?
But so far, outside of Devo, it's been true. The starters are starting to come back. McCullers and Morton are back; McHugh is in rehab starts. Keuchel seems to be about to start them. I'm as surprised as anyone, but they've thrown enough scrubs out there to collect innings that none of the key bullpen guys are being overworked, outside of the big unknown in Devo. And arguably Peacock since he's being used in a mix of starting and relieving. Harris was on pace for 60ish innings for the year, which is a typical reliever workload and nothing out of the norm. His workload has been remarkably consistent (10-11 innings each month), and June was his best month. Gregerson and Giles are on similar paces, while Sipp is below that. The others mostly are irrelevant.
I hope Luhnow goes all in. Don't underwhelm us. Time to go with your gut even if the numbers do not completely line up.
