    good point. harkless and leonard have 60M/3yrs remaining. same as ryno, except ryno is the best player out of those 3. they improve on the court and break even on the books. that's gotta be worth a second rounder at least. thanks for pointing that out.

    Even though it was a major letdown for alot of fans yesterday, hopefully the fact that so many fans showed up to the pep rally that they couldn't even get them all in the building in time will show Melo via CP3 that Houston is feeling the hype reciprocally.

    Poor Morey probably hasn't even slept since Melo said he would wave the no trade to come here. He's up 24/7 calling every GM proposing 4 team trades, 6 team trades, 12 team trades . One thing i know for sure, this trade will transcend the confines of the CBA.

    None of us actually know how close it was, but I'm getting the sense a lot of people feel that a deal was in place or it was THAT close when that may not be true.

    I think Melo saying he's willing to come to Houston was obviously true, and that's what made everyone believe the trade was close. But the parameters probably weren't. Before this summer the idea was if Melo was willing to waive the no trade clause then NY would definitely want to dump him. He was that toxic. I'm not sure how much that has changed but the situation is different when we are involved and Rynos contract is involved. The desperation to give him to us is not the same as the desperation to get rid of him.

    It sounds to me like he's just offering his personal opinion. That won't stop people for coming after him if and when the deal isn't done by early next week though LOL

    It's obviously hard to pull it off. I'm not expecting anything. I think DM should get a backup PG or add Taylor. If Melo becomes available, try to get it done.
