I'm on board. Was always hoping we could get him back. Better than any of the recent 3rd string bigs we've had in some time WELCOME TARIK!
Because how often do you see an undrafted rookie get minutes on a championship contender? Also, if you're the Rockets and you have the ability to attract veteran players at minimum deals who want to chase a ring, why in the hell wouldn't you? I can't imagine there are a lot of contenders out there would would rather have Oliver in that situation than someone like Speights or Diaw.
I'm not saying it's a "priority." I kind of think you're blowing this out of priority, chief. I'm saying that if you have the ability to add a quality veteran on the cheap to fill an area where you're not that deep, whey the hell wouldn't you? Also, just because the Rockets ran a lot of guards out at the 3 last season doesn't mean that's always the best strategy. Sometimes you need a bigger lineup. And between Ariza, Tucker, Anderson and Melo, not a single one of those guys is an ideal defensive matchup against the better, longer offensive PFs in the league.
You have to be joking he won't get 20 mins a game here in no way is he on dekker's level for scoring.
If you think Brandon Jennings would be a more important piece to this team than someone to play backup C on the ~20 nights Nene sits, Godspeed.
Oh you mean Pau then? The one that took a pay cut cause he's loyal and giving Spurs cap relief? Or did you mean?
Saving the BAE to spend on midseason buyouts was a cute trick when the Rockets were a punchy team looking to break summer stuff in the playoffs, but we're in the big time now. True contender status means guys will sign for the minimum. Cleveland picked up two of the best guys last year with minimum contracts. This year thatll be the Rockets.
